Well after my recent straight wins at my FLGS, people have threatened poor ol me that they're gona bring out their deamon hunters solely for me this coming saturday. (How sweet?) and im just wondering what daemon players would bring against a blatant army fielded specifically to beat you.

Daemonhunters have almost no powers against daemons any more.

What is a 'Daemon' for daemonhunters is closely defined and those definitions pretty much don't match what is in the new Daemon codex.

Armor saves and FNP are especially helpful abilities so that you won't be cut down by psycannons and incinerators. I'd also stay away from daemon princes and greater daemons because their force weapons ignore Eternal Warrior. On the other hand, Daemonhunters tend to have lackluster anti-tank, so maxing out on soul grinders and heralds is probably a good idea.

Depends how you choose to interpret the Daemon definition. The Daemonhunters get many advantages, and to make up for those you get the Daemonic Infestation rule, allowing you to re-use squads that have been destroyed. However, the rule states it only applies to Daemon Packs, Nurglings and Dameonic Beasts units, two of which don't exist any more! My opinion is that you should still get to use it, but remember to discuss this with your opponent. If you DO get to use it, get the Grey Knights to come to you, so that your reserves (which enter play from your boards edge) actually get into the game.

Also, remember that none of the powers and gifts in the Daemons codex count as psychic powers. They're just 'permanently on' abilities and shooting weapons, and as such they cannot be nullified by psychic hoods and The Aegis power has no effect against them.

Slaanesh daemons might be at an advantage, since Daemons have to roll as if in difficult terrain when charging Grey Knights. Slaanesh daemons tend to be fleet, which may get you those extra few inches. Nobody likes failed charges.

soulgrinder spam is allways nice, since the only real anti tank they have is the odd las dread or raider.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

i ahve a question though, if i get blessing of the blood god. (+2 invul on force weapons) do the Bloodthirsters/heralds get a 2+ invul on the out right kill attack of the force weapon?

Yes they do since the NFW requires a psychic test for the outright kill.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

THAT could actually be VERY debatable, especially assuming your FLGS goes by the nemesis-slain outright differs from the force weapon-insta kill.

Since "Nemesis Force Weapons" differ from "Force Weapons" depending on how RAW your store is you might not get the save. You may be looking at arguements here, so prepare your case.

A simple name change in the rules regardless of how minor can change the rules substantially.

For example, in the Daemonhunter codex, you can load psycannon rounds into storm bolters, and heavy bolters...BUT you CANNOT put them into hurricane bolters on crusaders. All are bolt weapons, but because you simply replace storm or heavy with the word hurricane all of a sudden you cannot use them. This is RAW.

The Daemon codex says that your blessing of Khorne works against Force weapons....well obviously, according to RAW, Force weapons ARE NOT Nemesis Force Weapons...therefore may not work. A simple adjustment in the name and the whole house of cards can come falling down.

This is the arguement you must prepare for. Be ready.

Personally...I dont think your Blessing should work according to RAW...but I'm a DH player and I know what a Nemesis is supposed to do. (work against Daemons) Your codex also tells you that Force weapons wont insta-kill you, yet the Nemesis does.

You've got an uphill battle if anyone springs this on you.

Even stranger however, is the fact that the basic Inquisitor's Force weapon out of the daemonhunters codex, will slay a Lord of Change, but you WOULD get the benefit here...why? Its called a Force weapon, like what your codex says you get a save against.

Also, look at it this way, if the rule said that you get a 2+ save against bolters, would you get a 2+ save against Storm Bolters? Heavy Bolters? Arguably not, under RAW.

It really depends on how strict you guys play the rules.

so basically, if they ignore the name "nemesis" making a difference, and just focus on force weapon. They basically can'T say i dont get the 2+ invulnerable?

I totally agree on the Bolter part. i dont have the DH codex with me but, Psycannon rounds on storm bolters and heavy bolters, how bout normal bolters or combis?(even if the DH can/t have them)

@Deadshane, yeah i can definitely see it's an uphill battle, it all started with this guy who hadn't played in a long time at our FLGS, note he won best general at our FLGS tourney, so he kinda made a "come back" last saturday, i "think", though i seriously hope not, he was flaunting his "40k achievements" in the FLGS, blah blah blah. So we have a game, because it had to be my "baptism of fire". And he never fought daemon before because im the only daemon player in our Group. (we're spread across 2 FLGS and im the only daemon player)

Long story short, i massacre all his guys, (vulkan Hestan w/o the sisters) leaving him with only a land raider and a rhino and barring that, i forgot to DS my last Troop choice the whole game.(but i didnt tell him that) and he goes like, and everyone who "admires him", and i quote, "im bringing full DH next week just for you!!!11!!11" and 2 people go like, "yeah my spacewolves are gona be count as DH just for you!)

oh yeah, i would like that answered as well, and i dunno where i heard this or read it, but when a nemesis force halberd uses its normal attacks(no the force weapon instakill thing) does it ignore invul saves? i cant find where its written.

this is what i was looking for
kinda need a weapon profile on force weps, and the effects of them, might be able to work out either a way around it, or a simple way of working through it.

Depending on how they interpret the Rites of Exorcism you may want to take slaanesh over khorne for assaults. Some people interpret it as reducing your initiative to 1 (assaulting through cover) and others do not interpret it that way. That means all khorne units will always strike last in combat with GKs.

Slaanesh have nades so it doesn't matter, khorne on the other hand will die horribly. Many times have I charged my squad of bloodletters and skulltaker into some small squad of GKs and had them wiped out because they struck last.

Take Tzeentch for shooting. In fact probably the best army would be Tzeentch and Slaanesh.
