Still digesting the material. Does Cold Blooded pretty much remove the need for
a BSB, or is there a model/combination that is its equivalent that I'm just not
seeing?

You can still get a Battle Standard Bearer if you want. Skink Chiefs, Scar Vets and Slann can carry one.

Thanks for the page reference.

So they don't put the option in the individual entries because it applies to
three different entries?

I like how the Slann can get his full magic item allotment even if he's the BSB. I
figure they just paint a standard on his belly while he sleeps/studies magic.

BSBs actually make lizardmen freakin fearless.. I did the math behind a leadership 9 test with cold blooded once and it had something like a 97% chance of success, take that dwarves!
I like to use them to boost combat resolution in my Saurus Warriors. It was fun to watch people try to break a unit with static combat resolution of 6 and cold blooded leadership 8 or 9 with re-rolls. I used to love them in the 6th ed book, but my wife really has to worry about me cheating on her with them now due to their armor increase, point reduction and the replacement of predatory fighters with A:2

Imagine T. Gaurd: Stubborn, Cold-blooded, and re-rolls! In Fact, I think I will do that when I start. How does 20 Temple gaurd w. full command, Slann Preist w. Battle Standard sound? (Also, if there is a way to deal w. fear, that would be in there as well)

Nah. I have to flesh out my High Elves (still assembling chariots), flesh out my
Eternal Guard blocks (I'm about 20 Eternal Guard away from finishing that project),
and get some work done on my Corsairs. And since I intend to do this all pretty
much simultaneously, it will probably take some doing.

@ Luna: if the Slann is in the Temple guard, they are stubborn and immune to psychology.

Still sounds like what it was in the previous book: expensive. I like the fact now that temple guard can be taken by themselves as a special choice instead of being 0-1 per slann and having to have the slann in that unit. You figure that's a 300 pt'ish unit and you have to put your 600 pt geared up slann in it and all of a sudden you've got 1 900 pt unit on the table screaming SHOOT ME!

On another note, I'm glad I'm only 1 of 2 lizardmen players in my area and that people aren't jumping all on the lizardmen band wagon like they did with chaos marines.. That would probably drive me to quit the army..

Reading the BSB box in the new book I noticed something, it doesn't say that you can't take any extra weapons or a shield anymore.

Unless it's in the rule book but I don't remember it being in there.

So a Scar-vet BSB with the cold one hide and a shield wouldn't be a too bad choice for a bit more protection I feel T6 1+ save.

Or maybe I just didn't read it properly.

you can give them magic gear as long as you don't give them a magic banner. I like the sun standard personally, but then again, I have a lot of shooting armies in my area..

Yeah I tend towards the sun std too, I play quite often against an Empire gunline and HEs as well.
