Finally attempting to color my kans after doing some testing on the grot mega armor.

The color scheme is Goff i think ( the black ones ) Because its really dark, im trying to balance it by having
existing colors extra vibrant. Probably making the glyphs and banner red to give it the much needed contrast.
And filing the black areas with some white checkers.

Looking good! Needs more color yet. Can't wait to see more.

Me too, but everytime I do it I get that much better

Seriously, just take your time, and use a pencil to lightly draw on the straight lines, till you get it acceptable, then just 'Color in the lines".

Maybe a bit more rust.... add some color to the model as a whole, while still keeping the dark, no-paint theme.

I think they look pretty good as is!

The washes look really nice on the model as a whole, but I especially like that look you have on the colored areas...like mottled, muted colors. I would like to see you bring that to the other painted areas, like the boss pole and checks. Even just the washes would do the trick.

To get a super rusty look, I base paint all those areas in Vermin Brown, and then use a cross between stipling and drybrushing with boltgun metal. It looks decent after a couple of washes, you can even stiple in some darker browns and bright oranges.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Other than a some sort wash on the yellow hydraulics, I think they look good as is.

I have been incredibly frustrated with the lack of light i get.

Nigh time painting + night time photography = seriousely
make ONE model look like 2 different ones.

I tried using photoshop to lighten the parts blacked out by the bad lighting, and it just doesnt really work.

But for once today its sunny , going to take photo!

I think it looks great but but if your looking for minor nitpicks...

Depends on your basing scheme obviously but i would like to see more color on the base. I think it would make the model pop a bit. My beast army had a similar basing colors and i used patches of dead grass (brown static grass) to break it up a bit for example. It wouldn't take much but i think it would help make the model stand out to add a lil' something on the base.

This pre-answers a PM I was contemplating, actually(whether to use kun or chan as sama does seem a little formal).

EDIT: The checks on the Missiles are great! Not perfect, but too exact wouldn't be very Orky!
