I know this seems a bit of a stupid question but it does have me puzzled. Do the three squads form up as one? Can Calgar and the three squads all mount up in a Landraider? I understand that as an IC he would only attach to one squad but then why have three - as soon as in a transport wouldn't the other two get separated if couldn't travel together? Going to be playing a large game (4000 points) soon and thought it would be fun to throw in a character I have never used before.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Well all it is saying is that you have 3 seperate units of them. They each can have a seperate Detecated Transport etc.

Just as the rules say, they are each independant units. If your playing a big game then you could imagine Calgar with a unit, and 2 others all Drop Poding down in seperate pods at the time same turn one, or all 3 rolling in their own Land Raiders etc.

Just remember, they are all 3 (The Honour Guard) totally seperate units. How you use them in game (working in concert or not) is up to you.

Honour guards aren't retinues, they are just normal squads that happen to not be in a force organisation slot and be allowed based on your chosen characters. They are no different from any other units though, and would operate the same as if you had three tactical squads and marneus calgar in a single army.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Thanks to you both for helping. Appreciated.
