Great looking models for the SoB army, but 11 av open top walker in squads of 1-3 fleet(holy rage), D6 attacks w/ heavy flamer and 2 dreadnought CCW if your not familiar with them. I was thinking of a good way to field them and maybe you could help me. Was thinking of having them behind rhinos in a mec army, would that not give them a cover save or could they not be hit if they are screened ? I hardly see them in army lists, but they look like alot of fun, any help would be great. Looking forward to your ideas.

Any AV over 10 are much harder to kill in 5th and what every one forgets are these guys are fast walkers they have the normal 6" move and +D6" from holy rage. If you are smart you can also place friendly models so they can't fire their flamers, and then run them.

and controling them is easer then most people think you can't move through frendly models so you can channel them down the root you want them to go.

So whats the down side
you've got to have a priest and these guys make many units naff (pure HTH army would be fine)

I've tried a number of different ways of fielding these things. I have two of them, Admittedly they are beutiful and i like the idea but as far as effectiveness goes they never make their points up. they die to easy and the lack of control makes them even worse, as you can't even try to run them behind cover. Best effect i've had with them is as a counter assault unit in Apoc games. keep them in reserve and bring them in later game, as you'll be able to then target them at squads they will be VERY effective at killing.

It is worth noting that Holy Rage != Fleet. They get the extra move in the movement phase, and then can also run assuming there is not an enemy within flamer range.

I have not really run them since 4th edition, but perhaps once I repin the one I dropped and broke I will give them a go and see if they benefit enough from the run rule and tougher vehicles to be worth it.
