So with the Nob Biker craze, I have to wonder if I can make a list using existing Ork models I have painted up, should I play 40k again. I didn't want to go completely OTT, but I didn't want to go short on power either.

HQ
Warboss - 155
Bike, PK, Attack Squig, Cybork Body, Bosspole

Big Mek - 85
KFF

Troops
10 Nob Bikers - 660
All Nobs have: Bike, Cybork Body
1 Painboy
1 Nob w/ Waaagh Banna
1 Nob w/ Bosspole
1 Nob w/ PK
1 Nob w/ PK + Kombi-Rokkit
1 Nob w/ PK + Kombi-Skorcha
1 Nob w/ BC
1 Nob w/ BC + Kombi-Rokkit
1 Nob w/ BC + Kombi-Skorcha
Basically out of all 10 models in the unit, each one is unique. I know this makes me a bad person.

20 Ork Boyz - 160
Sluggas+Choppas
Nob w/ PK & Bosspole

20 Ork Boyz - 160
Sluggas+Choppas
Nob w/ PK & Bosspole

19 Ork Boyz - 154
Sluggas+Choppas
Nob w/ PK & Bosspole
Big Mek Goes Here

Heavy Support
Battlewagon - 125
Red Paint Job, Deff Rolla, Kannon

Battlewagon - 125
Red Paint Job, Deff Rolla, Kannon

Battlewagon - 125
Red Paint Job, Deff Rolla, Kannon

Da Kunnin Plan
Big Mek goes in one Slugga Unit, which goes in the central wagon. All three wagons huddle up to get under the KFF so I've got 4+ Cover Saves all the time.

Nob Bikers go either behind that or in front, does it really matter? Turbo Boost, Dakka, Charge, WIN!

Da Sad Part
I started into this looking to make the Nob Biker unit a non-unique model style unit, with only 3 PK's. Then I ran out of points at 1750 and the only thing I could really add to the unit was 35 Points extra to make every single model in the unit be unique. Oh well, I'll see just how stupidly nasty it is.

I would think that it would be fairly effective and not the obvious "cheese" that many consider a two-biker-nob squad list.

The kind of weapons that people would choose to shoot at the battlewwagons are the same weapons that people want to shoot at the biker nobs. You have more scoring units than a typical biker nob list has. You're arguably a little less resilient and maybe not as good in assault, but have a much more effective shooting phase.

And who can sneeze at three deff rollas coming at them supported by the biker nob squad.

Looks nasty!

A straight split of a biker list and a rolla list.

Only tweak I'd suggest is to turn the sluggas into shootas. getting to measure all of the 18" range shots from any part of the wagon means you get great range. they still are great at assaulting enemy troops or other non assault units. I have found through my few battlewagon games that you tend to just want to stay in the wagon until someone makes you come out. Thats when you charge them. if things are going well, then the shoota shots will pay dividends.

20 orks are too vulnerable, especially on the enemy side of the table to just be hopping out of vehicles and charging stuff. Better to kill it all off with the bikers first.

Let us know how the hybrid does please! In particular the kannons. i haven't seen them in action yet. You've spent a lot of points there, i wanna see if you end up using them more or declaring more rams and not really needing it so much.

I'm using Sluggas since I played Orks in 3rd Ed and I have a crap-ton of them painted and built, as such I don't have to model up and paint 60 new Orks. You're probably right though in terms of effectiveness.

Re: Kannons, I wanted a weapon on each BW so they could survive a Weapon Destroyed Result instead of Immobilize. It was a 5 Point Big Shoota or a 10 Point Gun, and I went for the Kannon as my 10 Point gun. I view it more as 10 Points of "not immobilized on a destroyed result" rather than a S8 Shot at BS2.

Somewhere in the confinds of central Jersey

i would split the no biker units up inott 2 units although 2 units of 5 would cost more than 1 unit of 10 and gives away more KP's you could just drop some boyz and it give you WAY more options.

Ultimately the slugga/shoota boy is more of a nit than anything else. Using sluggas won't compromise the lists ability to do damage.

And i was thinking killannons. Haha, slightly more expensive

Wow, I can't ever play this list again, it's so slowed.

The Nob Biker Mob took the following:

3 Exorcists
4 Flamers
7 Melta Guns
3 Heavy Flamers
85 Bolter Shots from Sisters, most of them Divinely Guided

In the end of that shooting phase, I had lost 1 Nob Biker who was previously wounded by the Small Arms fire (from an Exorcist shot that actually got through), and 4 Bikers had 1 wound each.

I basically surrounded the Mech Sister army so he kind of had to come out and shoot all over.

After that, all the Boyz in BW's assaulted, the Nobs helped in some cases, and multi-charged some Exorcists. By Turn 3 we called it.

Wouldn't an exorcist shot instakill a nob? I thought they were S8.

It does, but he shot them last (mistake on his part) so I had previously wounded Nobs from Small Arms fire. I allocated the wound to a previously wounded Nob.
