take out the lance weapons, they're bad for your monoliths.

My Armies: 2000 pts Vior La Tau
5500 pts Armagedon Deathskull Orks
3000pts Raven Guard with Grey Knight contingent
1000 pts Tyranids (Kraken or Swamp Paint Scheme, don't know yet).
4000pts Word Bearers, Company of Shadow, and Libation Bearers.
2000pts Chaos Daemons.

Monoliths ignore the "lance" special rule.

I'd be more concerned about any specialist Eldar units with power weapons or rending. They'll wipe you out in CC and then easily run you down with their high I.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

Watch out for:

Autarch & his pesky haywire grenades

Swooping hawks, same reason.

Gunless skimmers (basically str 10 rammers from 21")

Fire prisms. (will annhilate your troops)

Multiple Mobile Decent High I power-attacking units. If I were eldar (and infact I am) a key target would be to draw necrons away from each other and having atleast one squad away from a rez orb.

Wraithlords in H2H will just sit there against a standard necron, taking no damage. A lord can wound on 6's but can also be ID'ed by the Wraithlords Str 10. This str is also good versus AV14

Wraithguard & the ability to soak up fire and annhilate anything that moves. The one unit where its advisable to either particle whip or enagage in H2H.

Oh ranged sniper; very good save, rending/AP1 pathfinder rangers.

eldar shooting isnt too bad, you should be able to cope with it.
its hard core CC units like scorps and banshees that you need to kill 1st, necrons suck in CC, against designated CC units they dont stand a chance, so target those 1st.

take a monolith or 3, eldar cant hurt them really since lance weapons have no additional effects

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Same as hawks. Glances 2-5 pens on a 6.

two mobile lascannons or a str 10 ap 1 tl shot if required. I think I did some measurements & as the monolith is so big, even scatter a full 8" (2d6 @ 12" - bs4) will still keep it on an egde. Im probably wrong tho.

Normally lots of these. Av14 doesnt like str 10.

Ones also str 10, the other glances on 3-4, pens on a 5-6.

Really he should be ignoring the liths & sweeping off those necrons.

Im sorry for quoting myself. I havent once yet & I wanted to...& just to prove that theres a good amount of anti-vehicular death fielded by eldar that isnt in lance form.

Devastating Dark Reaper

If they field Warlocks, beware. Warlocks can hurt anything and can kill monoliths.

Turbo boost scarabs up to the dark reapers or rangers and tie them up.

Use the Necron Lords teleport ability in a squad of immortals.

Wriaths with a Necron lord destroyer are fast and kill a lot.

2 monoliths with one deep striking. The other teleporting back failed wbb rolls.

My friend plays Eldar, he's got an extremely powerful army, although with this 1500pt army list, I've never lost:

Destroyer Lord, Res orb, phylactery, warscythe, 205

Warriors, 10, disruption fields, 200
Warriors, 10, disruption fields, 200

Destroyers, 3, 150
Destroyers, 3, 150

Heavy Destroyers, 2, 130

Monoliths, 2, 470

Total, 1505

I think it's important to note that any warriors you take should not be split up. Of course this is true of Necrons versus any opponent, however it is even more important against the Eldar as they have the speed and tools to ravage any isolated components of your army (Think Doom/ Bladestorm/ Any CC charge...). Also destroyers are your friends, str 6 ap 4 will kill most of their expensive Eldar infantry on a 2+ with no saves. And if he tries to be an arse and Tank shock then remember that WS and Falcons rear armour is still only 10, and your destroyers should be able to nip around to get a nice juicy shot.

Watch out for an Autarch, they have S8 AP1 fusion guns
