I decided to paint the whole part of my friend's AoBR Space Marine set as the Mentor Legion. However, I'm having trouble deciding what color to paint the Powerfists. The most obvious option is keeping it white, but somehow I think that would be a bit too plain. I was toying with the idea of red or gold. What do you think? Here is the Terminator so far.

Also, I plan to purchase or cast symbols for the Marine's to add to their shoulder pads. Question is, should I go with classic, new, or recent in the symbol. Here are the options.

Moz:
You: "Hold on, you rammed, that's not a tank shock"
Me: "Ok so what is a ram, lets look at the rules."
Rulebook: "A ram is a special kind of tank shock"
You: "So it's a tank shock until it hits a vehicle, and then it's a ram, not a tank shock, and then it goes back to being a tank shock later!"
Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?"

I like the scheme. Maybe Red PF to match the helmet?

I also like the classic decal - old style.

I'd say red for the cowling, and gold for the fingers. It would kind of mirror the color composition & proportions of the helmet.

The object of a game is to win. The *point* of a game is to have fun. Never confuse the two.

and drill out the barrels. It's very noticable because of the white. I think white powerfists with the dark lining would look fine.

Red will match the helmet and keep the models cohesion together, so it doesn't have too many colours.
Great work on the model keep it up
and as for the shoulder pads as sev said go with the new one it looks better and is much easier to paint

I agree with the Red and Gold crowd for the fist. I prefer the old owl symbol myself but the newer version in the center is nice too.

Like it!
Red would be maybe too eyecatching and detract from
the mini.I would recommend light gold with a wash of
devlan mud, this gives a very amazing subdued effect
which will compliment the colours brilliantly.

I like the amount of red, actually it would look ok like this too! ( more red ! )

From Original Left with more green towards the right side.

No more red. It's too Xmasy.
I'll vote for white.

or maybe a thin diagonal red stripe or red fingers!

Well, decided to go with red as it seemed to be the popular opinion. That too seemed a little plain so I made the fingers gold as someone suggested and it came out pretty decent. I'm in the process of creating some different variation of the newest chapter symbol to sculpt and cast for both the terminators and marines. I probably will put this particular project on hold as I'm missing my Orks already, but I'll be sure to post the completed army when I get to it.

Oh, and by the way, any suggestions for the shoulder shield? I left it blank because I have no idea what to put there. I was thinking a small chapter symbol, but I'm not sure. Lemme know what you think.
