Hi everyone. Just thought I should introduce myself to the forum. My name is Matt and I am the owner of Heavy Support Games in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.

I started playing Games Workshop games over ten years ago and recently opened Heavy Support Games to sell the products that I have enjoyed so much over the years. I have decided to be more active in the forum and share my knowledge as a hobbyist, Games Workshop stockist and Privateer Press retailer.

I look forward to enjoying the hobby online with you guys!

A bit about the store:

Heavy Support Games is a new Canadian retailer. We offer the complete range of Games Workshop products, including the Specialist Games range (BFG, Blood Bowl, Epic, Mordheim, and more) - an unmatched selection for an independent retailer. We also offer the majority of the Privateer Press range and a selection of quality Citadel, P3 and GF9 hobby supplies.

All of our items are always 15-20% off Canadian retail prices - the best prices in Canada! US customers take advantage of the favorable exchange rate and save up to 30% off Games Workshop’s US prices on select products!

We offer free shipping on qualifying orders, affordable flat rate shipping, and FREE in-store pickup.

We will not be undersold - either in store (Aurora, Ontario, Canada) or online at www.heavysupport.com!

I just checked out your site... Do you know GWs policy on having a online shopping cart with their product?

I would hate to see you lose your contract to sell their stuff.

LOL, man that was really vague. I can't figure out if you were making a vague threat or
actually trying to warn them about something. It comes off as a threat though, as a friendly
warning would specify what you perceive as the problem instead of vaguely referring to GW's
policies.

Can you quote the specific problem you noticed?

And, just in case it's their discount, if you believe that GW can control seller's prices in Canada, I'll just
point out that it's illegal up here and called "Price Fixing". They can recommend a price but that's it, and
can be easily sued for forcing a fixed price structure.

The only real difference I noticed between their website and "Great Canadian Miniatures" (open 8 years)
shopping cart is that GCM doesn't have any pictures and theirs does. Is that the problem?

...curious in Canada

How was that vague? It was a hint to look at GW online selling policies before he gets his distributors licence pulled.

I did quote the problem, you can not have an online shopping cart for GW products. Having pictures with them makes it a double no-no.

I understood what he meant as GW US has a very strict IP policy with regards to online shopping carts and the use of their images online. This policy does not extend to Canada however as the laws here are different regarding IP protection and the ability for manufacturers to tell end sellers how they can sell their products. I hear GW is having their legal department review the Canadian policy but time will tell.

For now though US buyers can feel free to purchase from our store using a full shopping cart and free US shipping. Also when you factor in the very favorable exchange rate and the lack of duties (US manufactured goods being imported back into the US pay no tariffs or duties) it is a very cost effective option for US buyers. For our store for instance a Land Raider Crusader ($50 USD retail purchase from GW.com) can be had for $35.64 USD from Heavy Support Games, an about 29% savings over retail. Better than just about anyone.

As I was reading your into I was so absolutely hoping you were in Ontario, California... You guys look like you're poised for success and I pray you have exactly that! I'm going to check you guys out because the exchange rate is still pretty good (for the time being).

Thanks for the compliment! You are correct. The exchange rate is great right now and should be for some time as it is heavily linked to global energy prices (which are way down because of the recession). I just hope GW Canada doesn't raise their prices for fear that deal hunting Americans will shop more and more north of the border for that reason.

That's great! I know what you mean about the guard...I want Valkyries! The pre-orders will be up when I get the info from GW, usually when it appears on the GW US site.
