I'm building my Ork Horde and I've read and studied the rules but no practical experience (at least not in the last several years) I was curious of other players opinions regarding the ideal size of an Ork mob of boyz and why. Thanks in advance.

You usually want a minimum of 20-30 Boyz for a squad, unless you're packing them in a trukk so they can move faster, in which case you can only get 12, you should never go lower than that. The key to Orks victory is having enough boyz to make it to the enemy. The moment they get below 10 Boyz, they have a good chance of fleeing.

No matter what size they are, always make sure you have a Nob w/ a PK involved and preferabley a BP too.

Greetings,

For me the ideal size for footsloggin' is roughly 20, though sometimes a little higher. I find that if you opt up to 25-30 then ofttimes the mob starts to become unwieldy around terrain for a negligible gain in damage absorption. I would also never go lower then 20 if footsloggin' because then you might lose enough boyz while making your way across the map that by the time you slam into the opposition you lack the oomph to overwhelm them properly.

Regards,
Thor.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm actually trying to figure out how to seperate my 100+ boyz (into units with their own identity) and nobz and such. This helps. Anymore input is also appreciated even if it's the same.
