Have you tried this? I just recently forced myself to run eKreoss and I hate him.

My first list was kind of shooty, with a redeemer, zealots and exemplar errants, after that I dropped the zealots and errants and went with avatar and guardian and redeemer, vengers, temple flameguard and eiryss a seneschal, choir, piper, wrack, basically no exemplar knight units at all.

I'm 2 wins and 4 losses, one win was caster kill, the other win I won on scenario, the other 4 losses were basically I was casterkilled (one I should have been casterkilled, but my opponent got sneaky and wanted to win by scenario and pulled that off)

He seems resilent to abuse, but if you don't have a center of the board free of terrain and pipering the vengers you just don't have the flexibility to pull off a win.

I think I lost the last time I ran it, but it's still a fun, fun list for me.

It was a tight game. Ferox standing off vs. Vengers. Zaal and his Extollers gave my opponent
an absolutely fearsome threat range with Venators, and feat turn was absolutely disgusting
once the Ferox Sprang into an open space.

Yeah, I've tried almost that exact same thing, though without Fire of Salvation, as I don't own it, and without a reclaimer [though that's a good idea, if I run a couple jacks]. Recently I ran the list without a devout and regretted it horribly, though the Blessings of Vengeance was nice for the arc node. I was playing against eLylith, and she filled me with holes. Though honestly it's not like the devout would have helped THAT much as most dangerous things had arcing fire anyway.

eKreoss was my first caster. I only own the model for him and used him as Kreoss until I built my force up to 750, which I did as soon as possible in order to use him. The problem is he has no sneaky tricks. He's a beatstick, and he commands an army of beatsticks, with a feat that makes them into better beatsticks. He doesn't have anything to help his troops stay alive, move faster, ignore enemy models, terrain, free strikes, etc. He and his army can only charge at the enemy, and because of that the enemy can predict your every move.

Rhoven adds some nice options with ignoring stealth, which combined with feat turn can really mess up an enemy army that thought they were safe. And in the middle of a big unit of knights, it's nice to have them light everything near him on fire too. Rhoven's other ability to make models immune to continuous effects is kind of wasted with eKreoss though, since all of eKreoss's knights already are. Though I suppose that frees Rhoven up to use his other abilities.

I've actually found that that exact same list, combined with the Harbinger instead, works AMAZINGLY well. Gravus's Brother's Keeper combined with Seneschals and Martyrdom with the Doc and Heirophant on healing duty is just sick. I've run her with three units of exemplar, Gravus, two Seneschals, Vilmon and friends, and Rhoven and the army's just unstoppable unless the enemy has lots of remove from play tricks.

I've come to the conclusion after playing 8 games in a row, winning against the lower tier players only is that eKreoss while almost having the tools to get the job done really doesn't bring enough to the table.

His sneakiest move is to charge forward, cast that spell that makes his next attack a slam, make sure that what ever you slam (usually one of your own models) makes best use of your 2" reach, and hopefully (though don't expect it'll happen) knock over your opponents warcaster. Even still, most games I don't have enough other stuff that can slip past kreoss, your knockedown (or hopefully dead model) model and get at the enemy warcaster, so I'm back to using a redeemer to finish the job.

And the only way I have found to lure the enemy warcaster close enough is to camp all my focus and leave myself open or very close to open to an assassination where i could very well die.

Harbinger looks better and better for 750 doesn't she?
