Just wondering if you guys have some tips on acquiring plasticard in the US. i don't have any dedicated hobby stores near my new place and was wondering if it's possible to acquire the sheet/tube styrene in home depot or lowe's; if so, what name is it sold under? (brand name or just polystyrene) i've read the article here on dakka but need a few more tips. what glue do you use? cyanoacrylate? or the gw plastics only glue? (the one that melts the pieces together) do you use a pro pipe cutter or just a knife score/break to cut the pipes? does green stuff stick well to it? i'm pretty familiar with green stuff and pinning but hope to add plasticard to my modelling techniques as i need to convert my old ogryns into something more "cadian" looking. thanks!

Hardware stores sell "House for Sale", "Car for Sale", and "Beware of Dog" type signs. Those are styrene, usually 0.03" to 0.04" thick, perfect for armor plating.

I get my stuff from http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ They have a 25$ minimum order for shipping, but the prices are reasonable and the service has always been top notch.
If youre not sure what youre looking for or are interested in a certain thing, ask for a sample with your first order, they hooked me up pretty good.

I'm just curious to know what sizes you guys use? I have some thin stuff (looks like .4mm) and it's of little use to me :(

Hey! Thanks for the great idea. I never even thought of those signs for modelling.
On that note, the signs are usually available at most "Dollar Stores" for $1/each.

Greetings from Scotland!
Any model shop should stock it.It is also called Styrene sheet.
You need to use a dedicated glue for styrene. The one I use
is called plastic weld,it dries fast! Also when cutting styrene
don't cut all the way through, you'll make a mess.Score it with
a knife then bend and snap it.A razor saw is all you'll need
to cut tubes etc.The other thing to bear in mind is that sheets
are always warped a bit , so you might need to incorporate
some stuctural supports to whatever you build

Good service, good selection, and nice pictures of everything so you can see what it looks like before buying it...
