In the rules for targetting arrays it says you can only up the BS of somone to 5, and a markerlight hit can only do the same as well. And in fifth edition rules, you can have a higher BS than 5, you can have BS 6 where you would get a hit on a 2+/6+ and so on. What I'm wondering is if now you can have a higher BS than 5 using markerlight hits and Targetting Arrays.

I starting to think that 40K players either cant read, or don't care that they are posting in the wrong forum.

Tau Codex is clear. Max BS is 5. Rulebook has BS 6+ rules to cover other units with BS 6+.
So, in other words, no, you cannot up your BS to 6+ with Targeting arrays and/or markerlights, because the codex says so.

Apparently his targeting array needs to be cleaned as he missed and hit WHFB instead of 40k..
