Hello,

has anyone tried to dip / fap imperial guard soldiers? If yes, can you please send pics and how to / "recipes" for dipping or washing them?
I think about dessert, city or classical uniform (green armor with lightbrown clothes)

Well I haven't dipped IG, but I've done a bunch of skeletons for Tomb Kings, so I can give you a couple of tips.
The best way to do it is to block in the colors. You know, dwarf flesh on the face and hands, brown on the pants, etc.
Then carefully put the models in a little wood stain. Just dip em and wipe them off a bit, then let them dry.
The other way, rather than using stain, would just be to ink wash them, if you have a little black or brown ink
(I dunno if GW still makes them, I know my CLGS still has em).
I think the articles section here on Dakkadakka has a thing on dipping; if they don't, just type it into Google, you'll find something

I painted a 2000 cadian guard army in 3 days once just to see if I could do it. Shocked the hell out of my gaming buddies, and gave me a reputation of 'fastest painter in sprue posse'

I dipped the models, and they looked about as good as you'd hope they would look for being painted in 3 days. I'm not happy with how they look today but it was just a fun thing to do. And many people would be perfectly happy with them. I'm just picky.

Nowadays, you have access to foundation paints and citadel washes. So yours are gonna look badass, and be just as quick. Here is what I'd do, and I'm very confident this would work. This will net you well over tabletop quality results.

build model, prime black...

step 1. elf flesh on face and hands.

step 2. dheneb stone on fatigues.

step 3. knarloc green on armor and rifle casing

step 4. chaos black on canteen, bayonet sheath, ammo pouches and boots

step 5. wash elf flesh with ogryn flesh

step 6. wash fatigues with devlan mud

step 7. paint catachan green over armor and rifle casing

step 8. drybrush a mixture of chaos black and codex grey over canteen, bayonet sheath, ammo pouches and boots

step 9. boltgun metal on things that are metal

step 10. badab black wash on the boltgun metal.

10 easy steps that you can assembly line your models with. Maybe you can do a test model and show us? 'Back in my day' I had to prime the model white because i used kommando khaki for the fatigues, which would take multiple coats to cover black primer with. I also had to use three coats of catachan green to get the right green thanks to the white undercoat. I also had to paint black over the white undercoat on all parts that will be metal. So you are already 3 stages less than my technique, and it will look better. Since my models were dipped, that meant that my green armor was brown tinged, and I had a hard time matching my tanks to my guys.

I hope i was helpful.

My dip is a mix of artist's ink (sepia brown and black), future floor finish (think its called KLEER now) and a couple of drops of flat black paint. Works on everything, but the light/bright colors get mucked up and need touching up afterward.

Block colors, dip, and highlight. Works a treat!

Ive been painting my guard pretty quick and has some nice results

fatigues :

1) Khermi brown foundation
2) kommando khaki highlight
3) Devlan mud wash

this will produce slightly darker fatigues, but i like the look

Euphemism for masturbating. The word 'fap' represents the sound associated with the act...
