Can a single troop choice take more than one objective at a time?

Also, if said troop is holding onto 2 points and 1 point is contested by an enemy unit, are both points therefore contested?

Thanks!

First, yes.

Second, no.

The objective rules, as provided in the missions, are very simple:
1) Do you have any part of a scoring unit w/in 3" of the objective?
2) Does your opponent have any part of any unit w/in 3" of the objective?

Once you've answered those two questions, you're done with that objective; move on to the next one and repeat.

Obviously Janthkin is right. This comes up every now and again and I wonder why. Why wouldn't a big unit be able to hold two objectives? I'm curious why this is even a question.

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

History. In 3e & 4e it was very common for tournaments to specifically prevent units from holding multiple objectives. I think the 4e rules specified that units which spanned multiple table quarters were randomly determined to be in one or the other of them.

Some 4th missions specifically forbid taking more than one objective, others didn't.
