I'm looking for people in the I.E. for 40k, preferably in the evenings. My days off are funky and mostly spoken for but I'd love to find other people who are close to me and willing to meet somewhere (either at my place or yours) so I don't have to worry about running up again Magic or Warmachine tournaments taking up the evenings at my current local dealer. Anyone, anyone?

Adventurer's Guild and GMI are your local game stores.
http://www.agrhiredswords.com/
http://www.gmigames.com/
I've played at both and both are good stores. Either one has a base of players that can probably meet up w/ you for games.

You nailed it... Those are the two I play at. I'm one of the regular contributors on the hiredswords forum and a few of my friends and I are planning a time to go up to GMI. Would you happen to know anyone in particular at GMI?

Nobody really closely, but Toby has run some pretty good tournaments there. He's a cool guy. I've played Greg in RTTs around the area and he's been a good opponent to play against.

There is a tournament at The Realm in Brea this saturday ( http://therealmgames.com). Thats probably 40 miles from Riverside but not the end of the world on a saturday. Never been there myself but considering it this weekend (from West LA...even further). I completely understand not wanting to drive 3 hours to play, uuugh.
Can't say I know any players in the riverside area though, sorry. So...yes, I am not answering your question, in any way! Score one for me!

Heh, we actually have a club regular that drives out from Riverside to Brea for Fantasy. He also works out in the San Fernando Valley too, but we know he's crazy.

Hooooorray for you!!!!! One point for the Lamb!!!! But on a more serious note, saturdays are my bane. I work mon-thurs & sat, which is what kills my gaming each and every SINGLE week. Damn you retail management! If I was free you know I'd take you up on the advice. I'm familiar with Brea and I've been wanting to get into a tournament for some time now.
And on another completely different topic, do you mean dual lash/chaos terminator spam/hammers you with everything with a 'heavy' designation Greg who usually games at the adventurer's guild? Average tallness, knows the rules backwards and forwards, glasses, and VERY soft spoken Greg? We love him at the Guild even though he can be a stickler and loves to cheese it up whenever possible. But he's not a dick about it so he's always very fun.

Well, if you ever get a free day off or whatnot, let me know. It's always cool to meet fellow gamers from the area.
Yup, that's the guy. Last time I played him he was using a Guard army, but guess he's moved on since then.
lambadomy: See you on Saturday.

I live up in Rancho but cruise down to GMI every Friday night, reading some of the replys around here I may start showing up on Saturdays as well. Usually acouple guys playing small games of 40k or Warmachine, me and another guy have been playing larger 40k games 2-3k, Last couple weeks theres been a 5k games going on but for Fridays at least most of the store is caught up in a Magic the Gathering Tourny.
For those who attend Saturdays, what time to most folks start showing up?

Ill be there this Friday, I can be there any time really. I have a 3k scheduled for that night probably around 5:30-6:00, but if you want to get there earlier we can probably get in a small game.

That's definitely too late for a 3k game for me but having a 1,500 pt. game or even a small 1k game earlier in the afternoon would be awesome. I'll shuffle some things around and see if we can do it. Thanks!

Well I think that if I don't end up working on friday with my buddy I could make it up there at about 3. Would that give you enough time to play a 1,500 or 1,000 point game and still set up for your apoc?

Don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere around here but I guess there is a 2k tournement on sunday, the 1st. It starts at 10:30am and the entry fee is $20 of store product purchases.

Neither of us brought cameras, and even if we had you still wouldnt have believed half of the crap that went down really. One marine squad survived a Genestealer Charge and lasted another 3 turns before dieing, a single Asp Champ killed off a Hive Tyrant and a Guard, Vindicator fired 3 times killed all of 5 gaunts, I chose to run over spore mines simply because there was nothing else my weaponless Vindi could do. We played a total of 4 objectives he won with 1 under control I had 1 contested, I got ran.
