I have looked around a little bit and haven't seen any threads pertaining to this, so please forgive me if this has been covered in the past.

If you are fielding an army with two psychic hoods, can each hood make seperate attempts to stop a psychic power?

Second, points wise, is it even worth taking two psychic hoods in a single army. Be nice to use against a dual lash army.

Codex Space Marines, page 56, Psychic Hood.

First question, no.

Second question, depends.

1: Nope only one attempt can ever be made with a Psychic hood.

2: No point if only one attempt can ever be made your points are best spent elsewhere.
The only time a second one will be useful is if the first dies...

And range. Newer Psychic Hoods only have a 24" range. Not overly restrictive, but its there.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Range wasn't really a question as I was using codex DH. I thought of putting one on an inquisitor and a GK.

The DH/WH psychic hoods are different from the SM ones (The DA hoods are actually a 3rd kind).
Their description say nothing about that only one can be used per power so I'd assume each one get a shot of nullifying each power.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

You'd get an attempt with each psychic hood and each hood would have unlimited coverage if using the Daemonhunters codex. Simply because the wargear has the same name does not mean that the rules cross over, you still go by what is stated in the relevant codex.

So a space marine librarian with a psychi hood having a unit of Grey Knights wtih a psychic hood would get two shots at stopping a psychi power.????

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Yes, the SM (and DA) psychic hoods only stops other librarians from further nullify attempts.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".

So an Inquisitor Lord (with a Psychic Hood) is kosher too?

I always take 2 psychic hoods in my DH army when I know that my opponent depends on psychic powers (otherwise I only have 1) I find them worth the points more often then not as well.
