Car brake fluid works amazingly

buy a small bottle and leave models to soak overnight in a bowl or a plastic box or something.

The next morning use a toothbrush and the paint will just peel off like magic.

The fluid is slightly smelly so i would suggest using it in a large room.

This works with metal very well but im not so sure about plastics as the paint tends to stick much harder however im sure ive done a lot before.

You must rinse off the fluid before painting.

Have fun

I have to speak out against this, it is not advisable to use Pinesol to strip plastic models. The reason for this is that if left overnight, the Pinesol will start to dissolve the plastic. Link here. Because of this, I recommend Simple Green for basic stripping, and Easy-Off Oven Cleaner for more intense stripping. These options are least destructive, less pollutant, and more easily disposed of. Brake fluid, while moderately effective, is dangerous for the environment and requires special disposal (there are legal fines for failing to do so properly).

Oklahoma City, Ok.

i was disappointed to find no strippers here!
but to the original question, i have to agree
with the Simple Green answer. especially if
you're in no hurry. i Had some IG HW teams
soaking for a couple of weeks, and they cleaned
up in a matter of minutes. great stuff.

I agree, simple green is the way to go. I have a super concentrated simple green that does the job even better. That with a toothbrush should get everything off, and not damage the model. It takes a day or more if you just use Simple Green.
