So we can all agree that the current commander farsight model is spectacularly lame. So I took it upo myself to spice him up a little and make him look a bit more bad-ass, as he very-well should.

First thing I did was reposition the knee joint to make it more dynamic.

Next was making the weaponry positions more believable. The Dawnblade and shield gen. on the same arm were just too impractical. Then I fiddled with the plasma gun and added a targetlock to the top.

Oh and I apologize in advance for the poor quality photos, I managed to rig my camera to temporarily work again, but the macro function is broken, as you can see the background is more in focus.



And a possible basing for Farsight, a dead sentinel. I'm still looking for something a bit more orky because of the preferred enemy fluff. But this will do for now.



Kind of what I want the final product to look like.



And last but not least, a tabbard. It's to show that Farsight is more "barbaric" than regular Tau. I kinda like it but still, needs more orky.

I like how the tabbard looks in the second picture. It should really convey the movement of the model.

The large antenas are a bit awkward imo, how about a little battle damage to shorten at least one a tad

I would position the plasma gun more on the back part of the suit. He wouldn't want it to be in the way while rushing into combat.

I like it, dynamic poses are good. I've never liked weapons on the shoulders of crisis suits though, so I'd try making it under slung on the shield arm, but it's not my model!

That sounds like a good idea too.

You're right I don't like where it is either. I cant really under-sling it without making it look messy, I'll figure something out.

your auto focus is targeting the paper background. Try moving the camera farther back or switching to a macro mode.


Also since you are using the top of a sentinel, any chance you have the legs to trade?

Like I said, that option is broke.

And the whole reason I'm using a sentinel is because the legs are missing, sorry man.

So yeah I decided to have the plasma gun completely separate from the suit and instead represent it as a variant gun drone.

So far it's coming along nicely, will post pics later, permitting my camera still works.

The Drone idea sounds pretty good, it's like his own personal droid assassin
