here is the format we usually use

HQs
Ahriman 250
Chaos Sorc, MoT, Bolt, Demonic Steed 185
Greater Demon 100
Troops
7x Chaos Marines, Champ w/IoT in Rhino w/ Havoc Launcher 210
9x Thousand Sons, 1x Sorc w/ gift 297

As for the list itself, no one plays at the 1052 point mark, so you'll need to shave 52 points. Other than that it has some problems.

First problem is how many points your sinking into your HQ units. There are 3 of them, one costing 250, one costing 185 and another costing 100. It makes up a little more than half your list in 3 models. This isn't good.

You only have 2 troops. A squad of CSMs that is wasting 40 points for a 5+ save as long as the champ who is holding the icon survives. He will most likely be shot down with the rest of the squad as they exit the rhino or you'll lose the 70 points invested in him when he becomes the Greater Demon because I doubt you want to cripple your Tsons by taking away their sorcerer. The Thousand Sons Squad is pretty bad too. Tsons just in general aren't good in 5th edition due to cover saves being so prevelant. No one is going to just take a round of Tson fire without going to ground or something similar.

If you like Tzeentch a lot and haven't bought anything yet, let me point you to the Chaos Daemons codex. It will make a much better army based around Tzeentch for you and be easier to paint because you don't need a lot of clean lines if you don't want them, just a lot of washes and drybrushing.

ya thats what i thought too, but i was going to use the HQ as heavy artillery instead of tanks and such. I was debating on if i should include the icon or just add more units, now im thinking more units. And i have the 4edition, but thousand sons dont seem that terrible, their AP is pretty good, plus it adds another sorcerer to my army

Most people you run into at your FLGS are going to be playing 5th edition at this point. I think most play groups have moved on to it. You'll be hard pressed to find a group playing exactly by the 4th ed rules.

Lets talk about the Tsons. Their low AP weapons are useless if the enemy has a cover save versus them which is basically anytime they want a save now. Having another sorcerer in the army really isn't that good. The sorcerer your paying for in that Tson unit costs 90 points and can only hit things within 6 inches with his gift. And gift usually fails seeing as how you have to roll higher than the models toughness and it can't even effect things with t6 and higher. I know it's rare, but still.

The HQ as heavy artillery, while may seem like a good idea on paper, doesn't work out so hot. Your 250 point Ahriman and your 185 point Sorcerer are going to be outshot by actual heavy vehicles. For 40 points less you can get a Vindicator with Demonic Possession. For 25 points less you can have three obliterators instead of Ahriman. Oblits are among the best units in the codex.

Edit: It's very hard to make a good Tzeentch themed Chaos Marine army that will actually win. Your better off playing Tzeentch themed Chaos Demons. If you just really like models in power armor you might do better with plain old space marines. If you just like power armored models that aren't lame space marines, play another chaos god in Chaos Space Marines.

hmm ok what about a revision
HQ
Ahriman
Greater demon
Troops
10x thousand sons (soccer has bolt of change)
10x CSM (one champion) plus a rhino
And im thinking either a squad of 4 terminators (one being a champion) or extra CSM

Ok this is a little under 1000 points, but once again a quarter of your army is a single 3 wound model.

I'd suggest something more like this

HQ
Demon Prince, MoT, Wings, Wind of Chaos, Warptime 205

Troops
9xTsons +1 Sorc w/ Doombolt in Rhino 312
9xTsons +1 Sorc w/ Doombolt in Rhino 312

Heavy
1x Obliterator 75
1x Obliterator 75

This list switches Ahriman for a MoT DP. It has more wounds, better stats, a very devastating opening volley and assault (Warptime allows you to reroll on Wind of Chaos wounds btw). The two squads of Tsons switch out bolt of Change for Doombolt, it kills mechs and doesn't make you waste your Tson fire on them as well. The Oblits are there because they change a lot just like the lord of change, and you need some anti-tank.
