The Glade Guard box is 16 long-bow archers right? They don't come with spears or (drawn) hand weapons (excepting the musician, champion, and standard bearer options) right? So I assume that if I want hand weapons I'll need to look elswhere.

What are the 8 scouts from the Battalion Box ? Apparently they can also be built as Glade guard. If so, can 4 or 8 of the gladeguard scouts in the box of 16 be built as scouts? or is this a "Battalion box only" thing?

How many of the heads in the 16 pc. Glade Guard box have those silly looking half helms? The picture on the GW site implies that at least six of the heads are half helms.

Can the Glade Riders be assembled without their cloaks or are they molded on ?

How do WFB plastic Wood Elves generally Look when mixed with the box of 24 plastic LOTR plastic Wood Elf Warriors? (Do the scales mix well?) Could they pass for short guys and Audey Murphy types or does it just look wrong?

Thanks!

The LOTR elves would not look well with the GW ones. I have both.

The capes are separate but there is a divot that a bump on the cape fits into in the back. You could fill it with GS though I guess.

the Glade Guard box can make 16 Glade Guard or 16 Glade Guard Scouts or some combination. There are enough of both types of heads to make ethier. Thats the only difference, the scouts wear hoods and the guard don't..

The glade riders/guard do not require their capes (The hood is entirely separate) but there will be a hole in their back you will need to fill if you do not use it.

IMO, as a Welf player, the only LOTR models you should use are the Ents/Treebeard.. as the Wood Elf Treekin/Treeman models are crap.

But you can use any heads no matter what. You can put the hooded heads on regular glade guard.

Its not a matter of WYSIWYG, its just the suggested way.

Ah! Thanks! A hole in the back will be no problem. (I may cover the holes with packs and stowed bows there if they prove difficult to fill.). I'm glad to hear that they come off since they seem like a bad idea for a mounted archer or lancer.

Great info!
