Well...they kind of tried to go that route with the old style Necrons (Particularly the original Destroyers). And nearly everyone hated them.
I'm glad that they look the way they do now, even if Terminators are their biggest inspiration. The sleek, almost egyptian look they've got going on now adds a much cooler aesthetic to them, in my opinion.
But hey, props to the Terminator. Without them, Necrons wouldn't exist.
