I was thinking of an idea today involving IG, and before I begin to think about it further I need a little help.

Idea first:
What if the Emperium were to be completely crippled? Like demons bursting up all over the place, Chaos Marines assaulting every city on every planet. The Space Marines are crippled the Guard is almost completely gone. What would those last fighting forces be when everyone else is gone?

So I was thinking of a guard army that focuses on civilians conscripted into the IG. Tanks manned by people with little to no experience, men, women and children running across the battlefield with lasguns. Instead of commissars there are low ranking IG officers replacing them. Each squad of civilians might have an actual IG soldier in it to lead them.

But the main piece of the puzzle I'm missing is a ton of varied civilian minis. Any help Dakka?

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

lol. I used to take the torso with the full-length coat, and the head with the wide brimmed helmet on, paint them yellow like the Gorton's dude.

That's a pretty good idea, AlStrange.

Look on FRP Games, they have a line that's just called 28MM, and lots of them are civilians of different eras, from the dark ages all the way to today, and some of them are already armed. (Bikini babes with guns, woo hoo!!!)

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Model Train stores have a lot of townspeople, they are a bit low on detail, but nothing some bits wouldn't fix.

Urban mammoth sells pretty good militia. Quite a few of the males look like they come from the 40k verse as do a few of the females. Here are some pictures:

The only problem is that some of the weapons look pretty hard to remove and replace with 40k ones. That and they are a little expensive I guess.
