If you read the fluff backwards, its about how an Emperor overcomes being a vegetable only to be reunited with his primarch sons and then losing them again and having Terra in the dark ages.

It's the feel good movie of the year. I don't know how I never thought of this before.
I mean, with how cliche and boring grimdark is, the opposite is a pretty refreshing sci-fi story about the golden age of humanity.
