Is it possible to convert the Cloud Striker Squadron "Falcons" to Wave serpents using the sprues included in the boxes?

You mean the same way people converted falcons before wave serpent was released?

Short answer... No,
the wave serpent has an extra section on the back to illustrate the extra troop capacity, you are also missing the Wave-serpent only turret.
you could do something with plasticard but it would be difficult.

Thanks guys that answers my question. You would think that they would have had an addition sprue just like the Vindicator set.

They do, you can get it from the warstore but its going to cost you about as much as the trifalcon set itself.

There was an old WD that had a WS conversion guide in it, including some templates for chopping up plasticard or cardboard (I built my first Wave Serpent upgrade out of Magic commons), and it's a pretty easy conversion (assuming you have a plastic spoon handy). Just google "wave serpent conversion WD" and you'll find a few copies of it out there.

You can easily convert your falcons to WS. There was an article on how to do a long time ago in WD. You don't even really need the rear add-on section. Converting the turret and adding on the energy field will be enough to make it easily recognized.

For YEARS the WS was in our Codex, with no WS model available. Then, finally FW made a resin conversion kit for them, if you were willing to hand out the cash for it. Then, finally...and literally, several years later, GW released a WS model.

Several of us still have our home-made conversions from back in the day, and they are fine to use. They are a GW based converted model, so they are even legal for tourney use. I actually get alot of compliments on mine

There are a number of things you can do. I do it the lazy way and just magnitized both guns on the turret. When I'm using it as a falcon, it has the puls laser and some other heavy weapon. When it's a wave serpent, it just has 2 of the same weapon. Problem solved. One of these days I may get energetic enough to put some magnets around the wings so I can attach shield arrays or something like that, but that's really more work than necessary.
