A random idea. Tau with max Piranha's. If you wanted most or all could have fusion blasters. Think about it 15 Piranha's with fusion blaster , 30 gun drones with pining( thats 60 shots from the drones alone ).

The Piranha's would be around 1000 pts. Piranha's with fusion blasters are anti-tank and their drones wont kill to much but might pin the enemy. So with a 1000 pts left youed need core and HQ. For that mater you would not need as much anti-troop( I said not as much, not none) and the left over pts could be used on whatever you see suitalble.

Yes I know that skimmers are weak. But tell me what you think
would it be competative or fun or none?

that would be wasting 1k points and a decent ammount of money on 15 models that have a tendancy to die pretty quickly.

It would make a good themed army I would think. Something like a flanking element or a recon patrol..

I used to use a squad of 5, I now use 2. I don't think it's the worst idea ever, but I would back it up with Ion Cannon Hammerheads, you need stuff to churn through MEQs. Those and some Plasma Rifle suits.

Actually, I'm tempted to do it myself!

In 4th, I used 2 units of 1 Pirhana with Fusion Guns and Target Arrays to good effect. They were dirt cheap and could go hunt down Land Raiders, allowing my (3) Railguns to focus on other targets.

That's 30 KP from the piranhas alone.

um... nope. It would be 6 kill points. 5 Piranhas per unit = 3 kill points. And then the gun drones deploy as a unit PER unit of Piranhas, so that would be another 3. 6 Total.

Right, my bad...for some reason I thought you could take 15 Fast Attack slots.
