How do spears work if you are charged in the flank/rear?

Say you have a block of generic unit of spearmen that are 5x4. They are engaged in the front by saurus warriors, then they are charged in the flank by skinks. How many attacks go to the Saurus, and how many go to the Skink?

depending on how many die before swings you're looking at it this way:

you're basically looking at it like this. the three back dudes are only allowed to attack skinks because they are in base with them. the dude on the corner gets to attack either. the rest of the spearmen in the second rank have to attack the saurus warriors. this is also saying that you take no casulties. if that occurs then the spearmen may not be able to attack the skinks if the saurus kill 4 (leaving the champion for like challenge/ not wanting to target him seperately) and the skinks kill three (iffy)

The second rank does, but only to the front.
