This is a battle between my bro and me. It was supposed to happen before Ghengis Con, but time restraints postponed it until after. So here is the now "infamous" Nobz(being played by me, against my Brother's Plague Marines.

Whew! That was a great battle report! I've never done that good with my plague marines.

Mechanized armies are the way to go in 5th and they can block out most assault armies or funnel them. Guard will be the king of mechanization.

Yup, excellent way showing how nob bikerz can be dealt with. A bit of planning and just using your rhinos to funnel guys around makes for a way to deal with them. Changing their cover save to 4+ helps out a lot, especially when you are throwing melta fire as well as the fists of doom.

I love to see two very skilled players write up their game. If only White Dwarf would include batreps like these in addition to their commercial batreps.

As far as the tabling is concerned. It seems like when nobs lose, they are tabled. every time i've beaten them they've been completely scooped. They win by such large margins, but when they lose at a tourney they can only get like 2-3 battle points. I think that is a fine tactical trade-off. Their just aren't enough good players with good lists to turn out the nob lists.

Looks like a good game, with some excellent use of mobile "terrain" to constrain the bikers' approach lanes.

(I also like the cameo shot of the GF9/Adepticon movement template at the end of turn 2. That thing rocks!)

There usually isn't much left between nob bikers and Marines when it goes down to the wire. Excellent use of rhino tactics by the master, Kenny.
