Well im done with Lotr warhammer, along with 40k. The pull of fantasy it to much to bear.

However now i must choose an army, things i would look for, in priority order;

1. MAGIC - The best magic in the game, i miss magic so much and therefore magic is the number one attraction of an army.
2. Heroes - Very cool looking and powerful heroes, at least in a support style.
3. Strong range - A strong range of troops and heroes to keep the army fluid.

Darth

I'm unsure what you mean by strong range. Do you mean you want strong ranged troops or a large range of different kinds of troops to choose from?

Either way, the answer is Daemons of Chaos or Dark Elves, and in case you don't want ranged troops Vampire Counts. A mod should post a default answer of "DoC/VC/DE" to all of these threads.

The new Lizardmen book is geared to be magically very powerful, as are Tzeentchian Daemons (where core choices can be units which, as a whole, act as wizards)

Both also fit the cool-looking and powerful heroes restriction, with heroes able to run by themselves with significant power, or to support existing units with some real punch.

They also have a wide variety of troops and potential playing style, due to reasonably-priced core troops that can fill a number of roles as well as several different specialist special and rare choices.

With your criteria i'm pretty sure you want High Elves.

Based on your criteria I would go between Warrios of Chaos, Skaven, Lizardmen, or Dark Elves...
