I'm planning on doing some conversions on a SM Commander model (plastic). I want to give him a better looking cloak, plus a custom relic blade (which I will craft out of a power axe). So looking for modeling putty I found this Brown stuff. Does anyone know how this compares to green stuff? Will it be better for what I'm planning to do?

Brown stuff works better for large, flat surfaces. It doesn't sculpt details as well as green stuff (because the brown doesn't work as easily), but it sands better. iirc, brown stuff is more brittle.

Cloak - Green stuff
Relic blade - brown stuff might work better depending on what you do with it. Blade - brown stuff. Cabling and skulls and icons - green stuff.

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer
