From what I understood, it was the Enslavers who finally defeated the Necrons way back when. Are the Pulsara just another name for the Enslavers? The Eldar were also created by the Old Ones to battle with the Necrons.

i thought that the C'tan were called the enslavers. and yes the eldar were created by the old ones to fight the necrons but didn't you read it? i said the pulsara were the old ones most prized creation. i never said the eldar were not created by the old ones.

The Enslavers are of the warp but an actual species from the warp rather than daemons. They were originally described in Rogue Trader many many years ago.
In the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Enslavers are a race of aliens that inhabit the Immaterium. They are also known as Psyrens, Krell, dominators or puppeteers. Enslavers drift with the currents of the Immaterium, and are drawn to the psychic emanations of other creatures. Once a suitable psyker host is located, the Enslavers form a parasitic mental bond, which over the course of a few days will turn the unfortunate, mind-controlled host into a living warp portal, so that more Enslavers can enter the material universe and find new hosts.
The Enslaver Plague was killing off all the living creatures in the galaxy that the C'tan use as food, so the C'tan went into hibernation, along with their Necron armies, to wait for the galaxy to become repopulated.
Appearance
The Enslaver's body consits of a spherical lump trailing tentacles. The Enslavers can change their body color at will, and float up to three meters above the ground.

That description from wiki is a bit different than the one I recall from my RT illustration, where they looked more like man-size alien vampire bats.
The concept of the Pulsara is interesting and has potential, and while the fanfic could use a bit of editing, it's well written compared to most and leaves a nice open end to further the pursuit of this topic. Let's see some numbers, maybe an army list and pics of models if you have them.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Hmm, it's been years and years since I looked at that book, but I seem to remember there was also an entry for vampires, wasn't the bat a 'vampire'? (did it have multifaceted eyes like an insect or something? I also remember some kinda creature like a giant killer balloon with two claws underneath that basically bounced you to death).

*shrug* sorry.
I only posted that for a definitive look at the comparisons, since the 'pulsara' have so much in common with the enslavers. It could give you a good base to range from.
One does not simply snap their fingers for the content I posted to appear. Its takes time to rip that out of a book, format it so that it looks coherent, and then research an old link that is no longer available for further reference. Sorry its not appreciated.
Good luck with your feedback.

lol so are these any better than the Pan Fo? I sure do hope so... And to Hellfury: Its not that I dont appreciate it, I love learning about the previous editions of warhammer 40k and dungeons and dragons its just I want my race to be balanced and nothing like the Pan Fo so sorry. question: how do you like this quote, and who do you think should say it? "They are always in the vanguard and present a startling sight; even in times of peace they refuse to soften their expressions. None of them has home, land, or business of his own. To what ever host they chose to go, they get their keep from him, wasting the goods of others while despising their own." quote about the void stalkers by: ?
