I am planning on going to adepticon this year. and we are just getting ready to start playtesting.
i want to playtest my list vs the most broken, nasty builds to see how it handels.
for those not going to A-con... you get 4 teams of 1k each. 2 are paired up at a time for a 2k game. each army must have 1HQ and 2-3 Troops. fast attack, heavy, and eliet slots are all 0-1 for each team, with a "Floter" of each slot being allowed one per team.... IE one army can have 2 eliet slots, but only one heavy and fast... or 2 heavys, and one eliet and one fast.... get the picture?
so post the nasty builds. first thoughts are dual lash, bugzilla, nob bikers. but not sure how they will work out in 4 seperate 1k armies.

Noob bikers shouldn't be a big issue. At 1k you're looking at one squad of them (per player, at least...) Lash, IDK. For smallish games build a list focusing on anti infantry and moderate anti-armor (i.e. missile launcher/autocannon) but keep heavy hitters handy (lascannon) as you may come across a LR, 'Lith, or both (!!!) If both players are limited to legal 1k armies, heavy armor will be limited.

Why not?
a 1k Lash list looks like:
DP, wings, MoS, Lash
5 Plague Marines, flamer flamer
5 Plague Marines melta melta
5 Plague Marines melta melta
2 Obliterators
2 Obliterators
2 Obliterators
My partner is bringing one to a team tournament on Saturday, and in all the games we've playtested with it, it's done well.

Do you guys think the Plague Marines need PF champions in 1.5K and 1.75K armies? They seem awfully expensive to me. Additionally, how compulsory do you think the Rhinos are for them? How would a LR filled with PM do? The two other HS slots can still fit 6 Obliterators.

That's an illegal list for the team tourney. Each army gets 0-1 Heavies, and one army can have +1 (so, 0-2).
I've played in the TT for about four years now. We won Sportsmanship our first year. At least in the 'bottom half' of the Tourney (where we're usually playing), it's a different cross-section of gaming. Out of four teams, we generally only face one MEQ army. Mechanized armies are usually popular (even in fourth edition). I'd expect some Guard, some Eldar, a fair number of Orks, maybe Tyranids, maybe Tau.
I'd look at the FW stuff. There's usually some super-cheap-point nasty unit that gets dragged out every year.

Ahh eff.
You guys are talking about and Adepticon tournament. I was referring to the rules for the tournament I'll be playing in this weekend.
My fault
**edit* Still though, take 2 squads of 3 Oblits. You lose a little mobility but keep the firepower

go with orks
3 units of 20 boys with power klaw nob
unit of 15 lootas

Hmm....
I'd try something Forge-World. Have fun, and don't take something that aweome. If your Tau, maybe try some Great Knarlocks, and R'myr with 1 XV81 and 1 XV84 for bodyguards. If your eldar, try a Phoenix and Night Spinner. If your Space Marines, try a Whirlwind Hyperios and a Helios Land Raider. Or maybe a pair of Deathstorm Drop Pods with Assault Cannons. Or even try an army of Red scorpions. If your Dark Eldar, try a Pair of their aircraft. (can't remmeber name)
If your Imperial guard, try a Valkrie of 3. Or maybe even an Arvus lighter. Or of course, 2 Lightnings with Hellstrike Missiles. Have 2 Each and dominate the skies. Or try 2 Lightning on 1 player and 2 Thunderbolts on the other. Or a mixture. The Possibilities are endless.

Flyers aren't allowed in the AdeptiCon TT.
Anyway, Dual Lash and Nob Bikers are a definite threat - each army would have one lash platform, on a nob biker, and thus every pairing is set.
Having said that...
Take what you'll have fun playing. There are tons of awards, and only two are gameplay-related (overall and best team tacticians.)

I have a different suggestion! Bring something balanced and fun to use and play against. Don't contribute to the Team Tournament becoming the Team Gladiator.
I am more of a painter, but I do my part and play lots of practice games every year to get ready and not let my team down. It is ironic that the worst part of the annual process is dragging my way through four awful games against those kinds of lists.
That said, if you are determined to bring something nasty, you can expect to face a decent amount of heavily-mechanized armies, so dual lash might not be a good idea.

Executing Exarch

Lormax and I have always done well in team setups (although we haven't played in competative environemnts as stiff as AdeptiCon). Our setup looks something sort of like this (varies depending on point values and what not)... Blood Angles: Chaplan Death Company Several assault squads (at least 2) Veteran Assault squad Attack Bikes with multi meltas Eldar: Farseer (guide and runes of warding for those lash sorcerers) Pathfinders (1 squad) Guardians (1 squad, probably with a missile launcher) Dark Reapers (exarch with tempest and crack shot) War Walkers (3 with scatter lasers) Additional points would then go into fire dragons in a wave serpent, a second farseer on a jetbike with doom, a farseer with a seer council, or vypers depending on how many points were left and how stratagizing went. The general battle plan is that the blood angles move forward and act as the crunchy outer shell for the massed range firepower of the eldar. The eldar soften up the enemy with shooting and then the blood angles crash into their lines and wipe them out. Target selection is paramount to this working properly but it has proven to be very effective.

Because being negative about it is not going to help him do anything. Yes they may have being planning this ever since the tourny rules were released, but that doe snot mean he should not give his damn best to try to come out on top. As they say never give up never surrender.

I still think you should try some Forge-World Stuff. I don't know if your allowed seperate detachments, but if so then take a Gargantuan Squiggoth, some Boys to fill it and a Warboss on Bike, whilst the other player has Plenty of Boyz, maybe in a battlewagons, maybe not.
If not then take something else forge world like Grot bombs launchers, or take another army like SM with two Helios Land Raider and a Redeemer if you can get one as a Dedicated transprot or an ordinary LR if not. Or possibly, Take2 Helios (1 each) and one Redeemer each.

From Adepticon.org:
Imperial Armor & Apocalypse units (but not army lists) may be used following the rules and restrictions as noted in the AdeptiCon 2009 Imperial Armor & Apocalypse Units rules.
You don't need FW stuff to be at the top tables. And I think after the Damocles debacle last year, they've tried to tone stuff down. I don't pay much attention to FW. I don't have a desire to buy much of it since it generally isn't allowed in US tournies.
The best advice is to show up with what you want to play and have fun.

For everyone's information...
The 40K events at AdeptiCon have different rules when it comes to what FW stuff is allowed.
40K Combat Patrol - Not alllowed
40K Gladiator - All FW alllowed, including flyers, super-heavies, and gargantuan creatures, although no formations or strategic assets are allowed
40K Team Tourney - FW allowed, with the exception of super-heavies, gargantuan creatures, and flyers
40K Championships/Invitational - FW not allowed
If FW is not allowed, it may be used to rep standard units.
