I am thinking about playing a WH40K campaign at my local hobby shop, and I was wondering where I could get reliable campaign materials - ie rules, campaign maps, etc. Are there any good resources online? I couldn't find anything on the Games Workshop site, and a google search got me some pretty crummy home made campaigns, and I was hoping for something a little more polished.

So, if anyone has any campaign information or know swhere I can get some, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is no published campaign rules for 40k at the moment. Supposedly a 40k version of Mighty Empires is coming out, but no release date has been set for that.

Did you check the actual campaign forum here on Dakka? I'm sure many have asked the same question as you and there is some decent resources available in the many threads there. Check out this one for example:

Another idea which myself and some friends used is to purchase the Fantasy Mighty Empires box set and adapt the rules to 40k. For the most part they can be ported over without too much difficulty. A few of the events have to be changed but all in all it didn't work out too bad.

I'm running Eldritch storm for my club (updated to 5th ed). It's a tree/sector campaign and relatively simple. Several others in the club have tried to run one, but have failed on the first part.

There are three steps to running a successful campaign:
1. Maintenance.
2. Maintenance.
3. Maintenance.

You have to arrange what rules are being used. What missions. Number of players and "victory conditions" (for the campaign). What armies are to be used and any other rules (proxies for example).
I've had the flyer for several years, so many that I've actually forgotten when the campaign was originally run.

I've run a few map based campaigns in my earlier days (mainly for a WW2 or modern HO scale game) but the principles are the same.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Oh, I didn't notice there was a Campaigns forum. I'll give that a look.

I played in an excellent short campaign a couple years back, where we had a map of a city broken down into sectors, with certain conferring bonuses, like the one with a railway sector allowing faster expansion through the city, or a various game bonuses for controlling certain buildings, etc. The final goal was a large sector in the center of the city with an Imperial temple of some sort.

The campaign was a blast, and it was pretty easy to organize and carry out, because it was relatively short.
