I was wanting to take a poll considering the amount of people on this forum. I have been playing DW for the better part of a year now. I have found that a lot of people don't feel that the DW are very cometative. I seem to do really well with them. What are your guys thoughts about them.

I assume you mean competitive? Answer is Yes, very much so.

I just won a 3 month escalation league with Deathwing. They may need a Ravenwing bike squad to really give opponent trouble.

Very satisfying to win with a "universally recognized gak codex".

2012 tourney record:
Eldar 18W-2L-5D Overall x4
Deathwing 21W-7L-6D Overall x4 Best General x1 Best Appearance x3, 19th place Adepticon 40k Champs.
Space Wolves 2W-0L-1D Best Painted x1

Armies:
1850+ pts. 3000+ pts. 2000+

The eye of terror.

It really depends on what you mean by "competitive." If you mean "capable of winning against not-so-hardcore opponents" then sure, it's fine.

If you mean "capable of going up against the hardest lists run by the best players" well, it would depend partly on your skill as a general, and partly on luck... but I think you'd be at an overall disadvantage regardless.

Ah. Yeah I can see them being inquired for competitive.

They're a lot better in fifth edition. They can be competitive, but suffer from the 'really elite, few models' problem.
