Hye all. now im quiet familiar with the deep strike rules and what happens to units that drop off the edge. Just wondering does it work the same with drop pods or do they just stop at the edge of the table?

Happened in a game today and me and my opponent wernt quiet sure. we just uised the drop mishap chart anyways. Im pretty sure this is what happens but id like to know for future games.

The Deep Strike rules on page 95 of the rulebook clearly state what happens when a unit scatters off the table.

And BTW, drop pods do not have any rules preventing them from scattering off the table (only from scattering into impassable terrain, friendly models and within 1" of an enemy model).

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?

yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

You generally chip the paint and have to glue bits back on.

The moral of this story is to play on a very low table.

I prefer to think of them as bio-titans. Be especially careful of the infant's "bio-plasma."

You mean to say that you've actually seen a painted drop pod?!? I don't believe they exist.

Back in 4th I had a Termie Chaplain with termie retinue. Dropped behind a leman russ to destroy it with assault cannons.... It was then I realized that my ability to judge distance was rather off as I watched my 400ish point command team drop off the board... :(

I've seen some very impressive scratch-builds painted in tourneys before GW even made the plastic drop pod (which is admittedly very recent).
