i doubt anyone would complain though i would make a main body and wings out of wood then cover it with card or plasticard to hide the grain of the wood. and plasticard would make for easier attachment of GW bits

The only problem I see is the texture of the surface. You'd have to get it really smooth to make it not look like wood. Either that or cover the surface with plasticard paneling.

Wood would be good. (see the rhyme?)

Its only of the best cheap strong and light substances, and it doesn't kill dolphins to make it!!

are you thinking of balsa wood, mdf or chipboard?

Really isn't the forum for direct questions like this, I think you'd get better response from the M&P forum.

Going to move it that way!

Why not just make it from high pressured pink styreen (like the gw guys make terrain with)...quick and easy with a hotwire tool.....

Maybe if you prime with latex paint it would smooth out the texture. It would certainly cover all detail on plastic parts so if you were to do it, do so before any gw bits are on the wood. I, however, don't know how latex paint serves as a base coat, so the idea may be rubbish.

I would suggest using Maonite instead. Thinner, lighter, and no wood grain to worry about. It's cheaper, too, and you can use scraps for terrain bases.

I have built many rubber band powered airplanes out of Balsa wood. (the skin is a cover of tissue paper & painted w/a special paint called "dope") some of the gas engine ones I've made had key structural parts that were formed w/sheet Balsa. It's easy to shape Balsa & bend it into place & with water on the convex part on your bend & letting it dry, it will hold that shape. You can get better results w/practice & a steam iron for clothes. Hope that helps

Something else I forgot to mention, if you are going to bend wood, you need to bend parallel to the grain. Otherwise it usually breaks.
