making chainmail from GS? tips needed please. (GUO scratchbuild project)

recently decided to make myself a GUO from GS (and the old metal giant as a base)
but i ran into a problem before i even started.

rather than a cloth tabard i wanted to make a chainmail one, and there will be more chainmail on the armour aswell, yet i have never made it in my life, anyone have any tips or a tutorial on how to make it from GS please?

also, once i get the main sketch done i will start posting pics of that.
in the mean time ive just GS'ed a few parts together since there was no viable way of pinning the parts together (legs are in a few pieces due to pose change)
also, this will be the 2nd attempt at scratch building from GS, so with fingers crossed it wont turn out too badly.

Chainmail is not too difficult to pull off with GS. I think WD had an article about how to do it, but I can not remember what edition.

i remember they did have an article on it, but due to site changes i have no idea how to get to it anymore.

and incase anyone was curious, this was my 1st attempt at a scratchbuild:

the GWs website had a few tips for it, but all you need is the GS and a pin once its on the model, and prick away in little lines, with the pin at a small angel and do 1 facing right then left and over n over...... you get my drift i guess,

thanks purple, thats what i was thinking

allthough, a while back there was a method involving tin-foil used over the top of it then a pin, but not too sure.
