are they at the same place...as in the grand tournaments are at games days....or are they seperate events??

No clue yet, last we heard in the other thread from Chris (the GW GT guy) is that they are negotiating places and dates right now. We'll probably know in a few months.

I heard Grand Tournaments are so epic and pretigious that you need invitation to go to one.

Is this true? I learned today that I can aspire to be invited, assuming this is the case of course.

Nofasse, where do you live? The US and UK systems are different. In the US, there are several GTs across the country. You pay your money, you're in. Simple as that. There are a limited number of spots (say 120-150), but that's rarely an issue any more.

I'll let someone from across the pond describe how the Heat system works.
