Well, where to start?

I'm Canadian, starting playing WHFB in my early teens during 5th edition. In my adolescence and late teens I was a closet gamer, keeping that part of my life secret from most of the people I knew. I'm in my early 20's now and have really started to embrace the hobby. I'm a proud wargamer geek with a fantastic girlfriend who supports my interests.

I'm into painting, but I have actually very little gaming experience. I only had a few friends growing up who played Warhammer with me, but as I continued to paint and they refused to, I just lost interest in playing against the grey hordes. I'm now looking to expand to a nearby gaming store which seems to have a pretty cool crowd of gamers.

As for my armies, I have Chaos Warriors and Dark elves for fantasy, and a decently sized Space Marine force (~1500pts) for 40k. My newest project is a vostroyan army. I love those models, and I love Guard...

As of right now I'm in China on a scholarship (into my 5th year studying Mandarin, only 1 year so far has been overseas though), so I'm on the other side of the world separated from my beloved models. I tend to get pretty active in forums to help fill the void when I'm overseas, so I'm hoping to get involved here at Dakka.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Cheers,

- Human

Assassin: I can't give you much advice on an army if I don't know what you like! I tend to suggest that you follow the models and background that you like best. But if I really had to suggest an army it'd have to be dark elves. This is because they can be competitive in all aspects of the game, but are still relatively fragile. They're one of the top tier armies now and are sometimes horribly abused (hydras are just... too good), but I think a balanced dark elf army can challenge you as a tactician and provide a fun experience for both players.

Waaagh_Gonads: I'm in Nanjing, sometimes referred to as Nanking (as in the Nanking Massacre)... It's 2 hours west of Shanghai by train. Anyone in nanjing?

Dark elves sound like a good bet then. Super cheap and very reliable core warriors are great at fleshing out the army, providing rank bonus, and dying if you feel like sacrificing them!

Whichever they are, I'm not on the Reich ones, clearly.
