Around how many points would you take a 2nd HQ?

For my Wolves, around 751-1500 points

For normal armies, I dont take a Second HQ until around 2000 points, and even then its a big IF (i'd rather get that 6th troop Choice or another FA Slot in)

Depends on what army you play, I believe you play Loyalist Marines? I usually hold off on the 2nd HQ till about 1500, although with the right combo, they could be worth it at lower points......

Especially with the New SM Codex, it's more about what your IC's bring to your army, than what they do to your opponent's.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Well I play SM and Orks. I was just curious as to what a majority of people do.

with orks, its pretty realistic to take 2 HQs at lower points, a warboss and big mek can be very cheap and effective at a low point limit (PK,force field) so id say 1000+ and take another hq.

Yeah, i was thinking that orks should use 2 hq's when possible. Mek with KFF really helps out a lot as a secondary HQ.

I think it comes down to how good the HQs are for their points. Armies with good but expensive HQs (Space Marines, Eldar) tend to only include two if the synergy is really good at 1500, but most refrain until larger. Armies with good but cheap HQs (Orks and DE most notably) almost always benefit from taking two HQs.

If you're going to sink over 300 points into yoru HQ, it had better either be really good (lash princes, biker bosses, rez orb lords) or you're going to regret it.

Depends alot on what army, there isnt really a point limit for it.

For chaos the 2nd lash comes before most other things.. for others its not that important.

For my Tau, I think about a second HQ only after I've maxed out elites & heavy support.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

In my IG, I usually take an HQ and then take a hero like Yarrick or Schaeffer as my second HQ.

In my Eldar: Farseer and Autarch, and in my DE: Archon (Dracon in larger games > 1500 pts).

I think i'll do the common Warboss/Big Mek. 125 pt Warboss (PK, Shoota/Skorcha Kombi-Weapon, Attack Squig, Cybork Body, BP, 'Eavy Armour) and a 115 pt Big Mek (KFF, PK, BP, )

240 points for two kick ass HQ's sounds good to me.

Personally sence my tau army is all stealth i like to put in shadow sun but in my orks ussually only a warboss. one question though i never really grasped the point of aun'va could some one clear that up for me or the etherial in general. i mean if hes alive a lot of your men become fearless if he dies all of your people take a leadership test then gain the preffered enemy rule. i really dont think its worth 50 pts

strike quick and fast destroy your enemie before they know they are even fighting
da iron bootz (2500)
theres not a en skaven symbol (3000)
the angels of death (2500) (ard boyz semi finalist)
assasins of the night grey knights (2500
