Limbo

Heroes and Lords -

First off, the lvl2 Mage is illegal - can't have 2 arcane items (Ring and Silver Wand). Drop one (I'd say the Ring) for a Dispel Scroll.

Second - If you're giving the Archmage Forliath's Robe, you probably don't need to spend points on the Guardian Phoenix. Keep him out of enemy magic range and he should be alright without further protection. Invest in Dispel Scrolls instead.

I personally don't like using Special Characters, but these guys are pretty standard and fairly solid.


Core -
I personally like to run the full 21 (7x3) unit of spears, but the 6x3 isn't bad either. What armies do you usually play against? Lion standard could be traded off for the War Banner.

Overall Core is fine.


Specials -
Did you want to go with themed Chrace list or just a mixed list with Korhil and Caradryan? If the former, you could probably replace all the Swordmasters with White Lions (same points! w00t). You lose some attacks, but gain mobility, better protection against shooting, stubborn, and stronger attacks. Unless you're looking to baby-sit the Swordmasters until they get into CC, White Lions may prove more useful.

I'm not sold on the large block of White Lions (purely opinion here). I feel like they shouldn't be run more than 7x2, if only for extra maneuverability and being able to hide through woods better. I don't think I've ever seen the Banner of Sorcery on a White Lions block before. Typically people run it in Phoenix Guard blocks due to their incredible survivability. I'm curious to know how viable this option is.

I seem to always get the ring of corin and ring of fury mixed up. And I did it again.
I want to put the archmage in the woods and the ward save can help him against magic.
I do not know if this will work but it seems to have a chance.

The theory behind the white lions is this. With Caradryan MR 3 the white lions should survive really good until close combat.
That is also the theory behind the two units of swordmasters. Counter chargers or attempt to get them into combat as quick as possible.

Armies I play against are nearly everyone. The big threats where I play is WoC, daemons, lizardmen and the undead of course.

Those four armies are the ones that I have problems with although with no mistakes I have beaten each of them.

I do not like lists designed to take out certain armies but I am not totally opposed to doing that in certain cases.
That means that I have in the past.

I appreciate your input.

I understand the impetus behind giving him the save, my thinking, though, is that most (not all) offensive magic that could hurt him requires LOS, so keeping him in woods should be sufficient to avoid that. For any spells that don't require LOS, you want to be out of spell range anyways - a 5+ ward save is not nearly as good as avoiding harmful magics at all. I'm just concerned that you're investing A LOT of points into a single character that could bite the dust to one bad round of magic.
