Wondering Why the Emperor Left
|
So, just like the rest of the world, I am starting an Ork force. I started picking up some Orks for Gorkamorka, and I was very impressed with the new plastics, so Orks it is. I was planning to pick up three AoBR boxes, for the boyz and the Nobs. I am also planning on making a small Deathwing strike force, using as much of the AoBR boxed set as possible. I will be magnetizing all the arms, so I have to paint less models. Well, let's get to the pictures.
My work station, in all it's cluttered glory(it's looking better than usual).
The miniatures shelf(not anywhere near all my models).
The overlord, looking down on me, judging me.
Ork Nob test paint.
My Ard Boy Nob, pre-paint.
For my Gorkamorka mob, I have picked Morkers. I am going to try to have my mob have as many face masks, and goggles as possible, sculpting some, but I will cut corners as much as possible, taking heads from any set I can get my hands on. Here are a few goggles and face scarves, all current wip. Sorry for the crappy pictures, will try to getbetter ones later.
Here is a Deathwing, pip.
Anyway, that is all for now, let me know what you think, C&C welcome. I will try to update as much as possible, but I work eighty hours a week, and I am a single dad, with a two year old, so free time is a precious commodity.

It's pretty big, about a foot tall or so.

It's an AT-AT, all terrain, attack transport, and it's 10 and a half inches at the top of the head, and thirteen at the hump in the back. Thanks for the comment, it's nice to know someone is looking.

Looks good.

AT- AT stands for "All Terrain Armored Transport."
I like the skin tone on your test nob, but I think it could use something to make it pop a bit more, maybe another highlight or something. I really like the armor and stuff you put on your 'ard boy nob, it will be cool to see him painted.

AT- AT, Ive got one of those, but it was a hand me down from my dad.
Have you bought any of the new stormboy boxes- they come with 10 different heads each, all of them with sweet masks/headgear. If you dont feel like sculpting all sorts of head variations they're worth the look.

10 and a half inches, a tad short for a stompa, but with added bulk and add-ons, should look just about right, now the only problem is finding a suitable one to convert?!

Ahh...thanks for the correction, you are correct, I failed my starwars knowledge check. :(
You can't see the final white highlight in the photo, I will try to get a better one, but I might make it a little sharper, thanks for the suggestion.

Well, I was not planning on getting any stormboyz, but that is a great idea, I think the will go on my purchase list, thanks.

Yea, that AT- AT cost me fifty bucks, cheaper than the new stompa, but I don't think that they sell them anymore.

Sorry for the long delay, work has been a bitch, family has shown up unexpectedly, and my daughter is no longer willing to suffer her father sleeping in, so earlier bed times for me. I don't have much in the way of pictures, as I have been line painting. I am up to the first coat of green, yay. I ordered some stormboyz, and another box of Nobs, I also picked up another AoBR box, with the intent of turning the boyz into shoota boyz, and lootas, and the Nobs, into bikers, and the deathcopters into buggies. The stormboyz are going the get the ork gas mask heads from Micro Art Studios, inspired, of course, by the great work of jamsessionein. The real heads will be 'looted' for my gorkamorka mob, so it should all work out grand. I finally got my Deathwing shoulder pads from Forge World, it only took a month.
I will toss up some pictures soon, thanks for being patient.

I have some pictures for my adoring fans(it's ok to love me ). They are all wips, I have been even busier than usual, so not much got done. I have ordered some series 7 WNS brushes, I hope having some great brushes will help inspire me to spend more time painting. Only time will tell....
'Ard boy nob, with metals, still very wip.
I appear to have forgotten to drill out his gun barrel, again.
A group shot of 'Da Nobz".
The boyz waiting for more paint.
More recruits.
Sweet, sweet Forge world crack.
Close up, you can almost smell the mold release agent.
That's all for now, C&C always welcome, hopefully more soon.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

So, I'm back, finally. I've started working on my deathwing again, hoping to get a full two-thousand points put together.
Here is an AoBR dread that I'm working on making a venerable Deathwing dread, with twin lascannons and a missile launcher. Still very work in progress, I plan to add a loading rack of missiles, and I obviously haven't started on the lascannons yet.
An AoBR terminator sergeant with a new head, deathwing icon, and magnetized arms.
I've also decided to add some ravenwing, mostly because I've always loved them, and the new sprue is fantastic. The fact that they rock in game, certainly doesn't hurt.
Just a bike wip, nothing special.
I'm going to make a Chaplain on a bike from all plastic parts, here is his wip crozius.
I have three land raiders, six bikes, an attack bike and a bunch of terminators still in process(most not even opened). I'll try to keep this updated.
C&C welcome.
