I am new to warhammer 40k and need something cleared up for me. I noticed that there is a small asterisk next to the different head biomorph enhancements. It says that you can only take one head, which is obvious, but I have a few problems and was wondering if there was some errata about it. First there is no asterisk next to implant attack, so doesnt that mean you could for example have a feeder tendrils head that would also have the implant attack head on the same model? I am not sure if this was a typo oversight, and therefore you cannot have both, or if there is the possibility that even though you only see one biomorph enhancement you can have two. Second I want feeder tendrils and flesh hooks on my genestealers, but the asterisk says I can only take one. This does not make sense to me since other tyranid units have chest flesh hooks (example warriors). I was wondering if I can take the feeder tendril heads, and the chest flesh hooks. I am hoping that they have a errata either way that you can have two biomorph head enhancements, or that you can have one head and chest flesh hooks. Please help me out!

One more question I just thought of. If there is not errata, then what would you reccomend? Flesh hooks so I can assault into units that are hiding in cover and not take the initiative penalty, or feeder tendrils so I can re-roll misses?

As a general rule of thumb, GW doesn't write FAQ's that totally contradict what they wrote in the rules.

Genestealers can have Feeder Tendrils or flesh hooks, not both. They can have Feeder Tendrils and Implant Attack. It's not a typo and there won't be any errata on the subject.

Genestealers, at 16 points per model, are already pricey before you start slapping upgrades on them. Consider running them with Scuttlers only and letting their High initiative/high WS rending attacks handle the business of turning the enemy into sushi.

Unfortunately I haven't seen any FAQ on the topic. It seems the intention was to restrict Tendrils/Flesh Hooks to only 1 for Genestealers. The way most people get around that is by putting Tendrils on the Broodlord, thus giving the whole squad the benefit. This only works for 1 squad, but maybe keep a Lictor close by, or stay near something else with Feeder Tendrils to pick up the bonus.

Feeder tendrils are absolutely worth it... 1 point for a (usually) 33% increase in killiness is fantastic (and, let's face it, almost mandatory since the rending nerf).

Flesh hooks would also be a pretty good deal, if it weren't for the fact that tendrils are usually better overall and you can't take both (outside of a BL and retinue).

I tend to mix and match so they can support each other. There's a good chance they will come out on the same table edge so engage the guys in cover with flesh hooks while keeping the guys with feeder tendrils 2" away...both units benefit.

personally I perfer going scuttlers with feeder tendrils, ya they're 20 pts a pop but its a nice rounded neumber for whatever amount you take.

scuttlers is rly good just even for the scout move, let alone the outflanking, and like before feeder tendrils are probably the best 1 pt upgrade ever (u forgot to mension the 2" confering, yay carnifex's with prefered enemy!!!)

People ask if playing as the witch hunters, tyranids, and warriors of chaos gives me mixed feelings.. In which I judge them for their "crimes" (burning them guilty or not), declare it in the name of the gods, then digest them back into the bio-goodness..
