Sine I am entering into my first torument this april i want to build the best army for the game. but the best lists fro space marines involve combat squads but they kinda get screwed over in annihilation mission i was wondering how other people play it.

You do know you get the choice of whether to combat squad at the beginning of each game right?

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

It can still be usefull to combat squad in anihilation. It depends what the unit has and what your oponent has. If you think you can leave the rocket launcher in the back with little chance of it being killed by long range fire then it is usually worth it.

Never combat squad in KP missions.

Agreed. You just give your enemy more kill points.

Win/Draw/Lost statics
Space Orks: 11/1/1
Space Marines: 10/2/5
Lizardmen: 8/2/3
High Elves: 13/2/2 and one tournament victory!
Dark Eldar: 1/0/0

Don't ever listen to absolutes. There are disadvantages to combat squadding in kill points, but if you're going second and can see a possible use of combat squadding don't discount it!

The eye of terror.

Against armies such as guard and tau that have fragile units and are already at a KP disadvantage, splitting your squads can still be quite useful in annihilation missions, as it also increases the potential number of KPs you can score per turn as well.
