Open topped vehicles don't have fire points. Put the narrow end of the template against its hull. I'd recommend only putting it where passengers could conceivably be, but it's best to discuss it without your opponent before the game.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.
Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole |

Was it ever clarified how this works with closed-top? Putting it at the firepoint technically touches the vehicle - ignore it as an oversight, or place it against the hull instead?

It's not covered in the rules, but TFG would say you couldn't fire a flamer from say, a Rhino. Don't be TFG.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

The template is also touching the base of the firing model when firing and not in a vehicle, despite the rules saying "without touching any friendly models" regarding how you must position the template. One can only assume this contact at the narrow end of the template is ignored. Most people would also ignore if the template was over part of the vehicle being fired from.
Open topped vehicles don't have fire points. Put the narrow end of the template against its hull. I'd recommend only putting it where passengers could conceivably be, but it's best to discuss it without your opponent before the game.
I on the other hand would recommend only putting it anywhere on it's hull, this is a distinct advantage of open topped vehicles and I think they should be entitled to use it to it's fullest.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Some rules are more abstract than others. I see no need to discuss this particular one before the game, it's quite clear that any part of the hull is ok, regardless what it looks like.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"... |
