I looked up the Chaos knight mini from Warhammer fantasy battles, and found it to be choice. Its US$22 for 5. If using appropriately sized bases, what are people's thoughts in using this in place of bloodcrushers. Although I like the crushers, these minis are just excellent looking and screaming chaos Khorne pain. Mayhaps as they are or with a slight red tint.

Edit: I'd envision the horses as a light color with red washes to give them a strong red khornish taint. Any exposed skin on the men would be similarly treated. The helmets would be Khornified in some manner.

I don't think they really represent the concept of a blood crusher very well, but if they were based appropriately I'd play against it.

I don't understand what the issue is with the actual bloodcrushers. They're extremely cool models. Seems that everyone is trying to figure out some sort of proxy for them.

Is it about their price-tag? It's an expensive unit to be sure, but it's an expensive hobby in general. If you're looking for substitute models because you don't want to buy bloodcrushers, maybe you should pick a different unit, or a different army.

Bloodcrushers don't go well with my converted 4th edition bloodletters.

@Fraz - i definitely dont see a problem with it and think it is a cool idea. dollar value aside what if you like the crushers as a unit but dont want to run a khorne themed force? i think alternate models like these fit the bill nicely.
besides, what is someone going to mistake them as, chaos knights? lol...

Yes, Chaos Knights. The blood knights don't do it for me. The Chaos Knights look much more imposing.

I think this glitch calls for some images.

I would play someone who converted blood crushers out of Chaos Knights on appropriate bases, no problem.

I would even play someone who proxied them, but I think just putting a Chaos Knight on a round base and calling it a blood crusher would not be nearly as cool as using them as a base for a creative conversion.

If you bulk them out a bit I bet they'd look fantastic.
though anything you do would look better that the original bulldog/turd that was the original bloodcrusher/juggernaut
Maybe adding spacers between the to horse halves and changing the head.

I have a friend that does this - he puts bloodletters on the chaos steeds, puts them on the right sized base, and they look fine.

I don't see a problem with it, go for it.
