Hey Hey Dakkaites, this is my first post, and definantly not my last. Im posting my two lists, and I would like some good 'ole C&C on these!

I too am playing around with different Deathwing lists for tournaments and (if possible) GTs this year, so there are many more seasoned in the ways of the 'Wing than I am. I like your list, but I really do see the large model count armies giving you a hard time - even with 2+, even massed lasguns will eventually do your squads in - maybe a LR or two? Also, really consider using Belial's ability to give you a squad with an apothocary - it matters, trust me! The banner with the extra attack for each model in the squad isn't bad, but it's the price of an ass can, so you need to weigh that out.

As for the librarian, I have to say that I would really consider losing him (now that is just me, 'cause there are lots of successful players who like him) and bringing either a chaplain (add to the squad with Belial and the banner for a ridiculous amount of attacks and re-rolls first round) or even a (heresy) GK Brother Captain with psychic hood. He's cheaper and the extra point of leadership makes all the difference.

For what its worth, I'm waffling between 3 squads and 3 land raiders or something similar to your list. I'm not sure how foot DW will do against horde, but those will be my next games. Good luck!

Well, a Librarian is a must-have in a tournament setting.

There is nothing wrong with 5 DW squads, but fielding such an army vs. hordes can be quite a challenge.

For 1850 pts, I'd add the Dreadnoughts since they are more survivable than in the 4th ed, thanks to the new armor penetration table and cover saves.

Oh, I forgot to say that. Yeah, I have an apothecary in Belial's squad.

And yeah, high model count armies do give me a hard time. I played drop guard for the first time yesterday, and basically got lasgunned to death. But he got really good luck in that he had 20 squads with a plasma, and not one plasma killed itself until turn 5, with almost all of them shooting 2 shots per turn.

I dont necessarily understand how I would have a less hard time against horde armies if I fielded a tri-Landraider GK-esque list.

I like my foot slogging termies because of how many I can take, and I can put them in a consolidated group in which the front squad obscures cover for the back and if I get assaulted, I can have 4 other termie squads to counter assault.
