These are my, AntZ's, toy soldiers. Please have a look at the pictures below and respond with whatever feedback you may have. I'm anxious to know what everybody thinks of them. I will also be receiving some kroot soon and will post some pictures of them. They will be joining my Tau army. I have also converted an obliterator in the style of the Thousand Sons, as pictured below.

after having fun hurdling over yout terible yatter and having a quick glance at your pix i can say that there not bad, you need a small bit of work on the chaos though, maby a smaller brush wo make the black lines smaller?

the Tao seem alot better done,

i dont mean to bite your ankles, but with your next post refraign from da orken talken.. it may be dakka dakka, but there is a rather small chance of an actual ork reading dat shizzle

The bases are nice, but I may be saying that only because they're identical to mine.

For some reason the chaos stuff all looks very chalky...I like it on the horrors but on the thousand sons it looks off

I like the pictures - quite like the oblit conversion. The marines could do with some sort of graduation on the armour.

As far as your paitning goes, would it be possible to get updated pics of the chaos/daemons during the daytime? The flash/poor lighting creates too much reflection and bleeds out any of the detail/layering.

Other than that the, the squad picture of the Tau is nice. I like the combination of the orange of the foliage on the base with the olive green of the armor. Maybe highlight the green with a lighter shade and then use one of the new washes over that might bring out more detail.

Its alright antz , this is what internet interaction is about, i know its hard to get used to it.
But retorting with insults wont get things anywhere :x so chillax alittle for now.

About your obliterators, i love the helmet, the striped lines are very clean . So you definitly
have some skills there. Though it seems like the lower we look down, the more messier it became
probably tired of painting cleanly?

Some said it looks chalky , well thats due to straight light blue, right next to the black lines.
( almost like cell coloring ). Normally people would have some darker blue to show some shadow or shading
before finishing it with the lighter blue. That would definitly improve the chalky look.

And will keep you updated. The tau armor is actually metallic
Green but it dosent show very well because of the lighting

The painting on the thousands didn't get sloppy its my camera I used the flash
Is kinda crap. . . The chalkyness is due to the paints I use they arnt
Gw ones I get them from a local hobby shop .and my undercoat
Is matt black spray. .

The problem is definitely the flash. The on-board flash of most point-and-shoots and even DSLRs creates a very harsh light since the flash is very near the lens. It must be much worse with something as small as a Blackberry Storm. I don't know how the flash is set up on the Storm, but one trick you may want to try is holding a piece of tissue paper in front of the flash to soften the light. Alternatively, if you have white walls and a low ceiling you could use something like an index card to try and bounce the flash off the ceiling. Also, you may consider putting a lamp or other light source slightly behind the models and as high as possible. You don't have to worry about silhouettes since the flash should be much stronger.

obliterator is nice

The Thousand Sons are my absolute favorite thing of all time, so yes I like them.

I have to say, I like the Obliterator, the Tau are nice too. Seriously though, lighten up... We're all friends here.

I don't know, it might be due to the lack of lighting but when I look at your thousand suns my eyes hurt. I think its mainly due to the deep black lines between every color.

I do like the colors you've used on them though and the tau are nice. I have a friend who's going to pay me to paint his up and hes using the same color scheme on them.

Possibly some kind of blue ink wash or glaze over the Thousand Sons armour plates to make the colour a bit more rich? Other than that the paint work appears pretty crisp & a good balance of colouration.

In short, not too shabby art work indeed, but some of us older ones on the dark side of thirty don't speak jive...

grab a 2B chip from ebay for £5 and your sorted.

love em so far, allways likes Ksons, allthough i think the shading is a little heavy, kinda makes it stand out more than the model its self.
