no probs atall, some people you just learn to ignore since they are simply on here to piss other people off.

just a good tip for taking pics:

got any white plasticard or paper? place a piece flat with a 2nd piece like a back on it, then photo the models in there, white makes the pics alot better quality and more visible.

Modquisition on:
Gentlemen,

You have awakened Dakka’s crotchety old man.

A revisit on the rules:
Rule 1: Be Polite
This seems obvious, however many folks can sometimes forget that common courtesy goes a long way to lending respect to both you and your opinions. Just because you don't see the other readers' faces doesn't mean they don't have feelings and won't be hurt by rude comments. When you read something that you find silly, rude or insulting first assume that perhaps there is more to the post than you initially thought. Re-read it keeping in mind that tone and inflection is difficult to convey in written form. It may be that the person is attempting a joke or is exaggerating on purpose. It is best to politely request clarification before accusing someone being ignorant, a liar, or worse.

If after clarification you still disagree with the person then politely outline your points. Try to avoid name-calling or even implying insults wherever possible. These tactics generally only inflame a situation and lead to what are known as "Flame Wars." Whenever a flame war starts it usually ruins a perfectly good discussion. Others will lose interest in the thread and the discussion board in general if this kind of interchange is found here.

It also should go without saying that swearing, profanity, sexual references, etc. are strictly forbidden. Remember that we have readers of all ages.

In addition to the occasional loss of temper, there are a few folks out there who seem to enjoy causing trouble. They will post inappropriate information in various forums and make comments with intent to start flame wars, add spam, etc.

To keep such occurrences to a minimum Dakka Dakka has moderators who read the forums and try to keep things polite and on topic.

If posts occur that break any of the three above rules the moderators may take some or all of the following actions, often without warning:
 Posts that are in the wrong forum (e.g. modeling questions in the News and Rumors) will be moved to the correct forum. If your post just disappeared DON'T PANIC! Check the other forums to see if it was moved.
 Threads that get long because they have wandered off topic will be closed. People can still read the thread, however no new posts can be added. If you'd like to continue your ideas start a new thread with an appropriate title in the correct forum.
 Posts that contain profanity, insults, blatant attempts at baiting a flame war, racial slurs, etc. will be deleted. Repeatedly posting such comments may result in temporary or permanent suspension of posting privileges.
 Occasionally whole threads may have to be deleted if they degenerate into a situation described above.
 Spam posts (ads, attempts at attention, etc.) will be deleted on sight. Repeat offenders may receive temporary or permanent suspension of posting privileges.
 Off Topic Posts: Off Topic threads and posts should be started in the Off-Topic forum. Please try to keep threads on topic, if a thread is drifting away from the topic of the original post then start a new thread in the correct forum.

Additional
1. In addition, although not one of the posted Dakka rules, it is preferred that posters review their posts for Clarity, grammar, and avoiding net speak. A coherent statement will be viewed more favorably than a netspeak or incoherent one.
2. It is important to note, while Dakka tends to be permissive in free for all form, that permissiveness is also dependent on the directory forum. OT is somewhat more permissive. THE MODELING AND MODEL BLOG FORUMS ARE NOT. In order to foster greater –interchange we guard this section much more fervently to adhere to the above rules. Criticism of models is acceptable if done in a coherent way, backed up by facts or points to be made. Random statements, personal attacks, or UNSUPPORTED attacks on other people’s work can result in disciplinary action quickly.

TRANSLATION: BE POLITE. ARGUE THE MERITS OF THE WORK AND TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE AUTHOR’S SKILL LEVEL. HELPFUL HINTS ARE APPRECIATED. STATEMENTS LIKE “YOU SUCK” AND THEY LET ME OUT OF MY ATTIC TO BE NOT NICE.

I have modified posts to date in that spirit. Infractions beyond this point of writing will be dealt with as needed.

Modquisition off:

Personally I love those Tau models.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

there's lots of nice people on here...
out of curiousity, which did you paint first the tau or the chaos? they almost look like two different painting styles. imo the tau are much smoother, nice work. one other note, have yuo ventured into drilling out your gun barrels yet? it adds that little bit of oomph to the model and isnt hard with some practice.

I'm not a huge fan of the color choices you've used on the Tau - I think the dark green hides a lot of the lines that make them so distinctive - maybe they just need some highlighting, though. The 1K Sons, though, are pretty sweet. The hard blacklining on them looks really good and I totally dig the Oblit conversion. Very nice!

I like the oblit alot, did you have gs the tsons head up very much, or did it fit pretty well without gs?
Also, how thick are you mixing your paints? The non-white background is killing your photos, but it also looks like if you tried thinning your paint a little, then it wouldn't come across so blocky looking imho.

I like the 1Ksons, the oblit is a very nice conversion Definitely get a better camera for your minis. I would suggest a thinner brush as well. I am new to painting up minis and since I switched to using smaller brushes my minis are leaps and bounds better. I will say that a fully painted 1ksons army would look amazing
