So a few friends have talked me into trying out WH40k. I had a quick question. Is the smaller rule book you get out of the starter(orks vs space marines) Just as good as the bigger hard cover copy? Will I still be able to learn every rule for WH40k just as well as if i had the hard copy. Whats really the diff in the first place? thanks guys.

Hi

Yes - the A5 book has the complete set of rules - you don't need the other book.

The difference is that the other book has the WH40K background and information in it. You can get a lot of that online or when you buy a codex (army book).

There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Alright thank you very much. I worry about story a bit later. I like to know the rules forwards and backwards before I start really playing something and I didnt want to start off by gimping or misinforming myself with rules. THanks alot for your reply.

The Mini rule books are great, I've got 2 of each (Fantasy & 40k) that i can just throw into my minis case when I goto play. Much easier then lugging around the hardbacks.
